Trail run (Berkshire Downs) 1:50:00 [4] 20.0 km (5:30 / km) +200m 5:14 / km

Change of scene. Parked up on the Ridgeway near West Ilsley on the way back from Oxford with Lu then ran east along the LDP to the left hand turn, then down to East Ilsley, and up and over Yewtree Hill heading towards Catmore. Turned right through Lands End and up Wether Down to rejoin the Ridgeway for the last fast 5-6 km. Very windy and quite muddy in parts but exhilarating. Started with a slightly hungover head but that soon went. Felt very good on the downhills and with the wind behind and found I was able to switch off mentally while jogging on comfortably, an important skill for marathoners. Really encouraged by this workout. At the risk of tempting fate, training on course. Looking forward to a fast Corp Chally on Wednesday now. Left buttock didn't hurt driving home for 90 mins after - that's a significant change. Glad we gave Ashridge a miss.
