Orienteering race (Broadstone Warren C) 1:24:34 [4] *** 8.3 km (10:11 / km) +310m 8:35 / km

Didn't enjoy this. Felt vulnerable and got fed up pretty early with battling the terrain, especially when it wasn't as mapped. Got stuck in rhoddie/bramble/marsh mixture on long leg to 2 and realised, with sinking feeling, I'd be looking for unmapped tracks through grot rather than using features to navigate. Tried to be clever on 4-5, but white map was no guarantee whatsoever of runnability. In fact, given all the climb as well, this ended up feeling like a fast walking competition. Lost a lot of time on 6 trying to match rhoddies (cleared?) with map, and sort of gave up on trying. Got into a group, most of whom I think I'd caught, and we kind of used each other a bit to find flags after that. Still had biggish misses on 13, 14 and 17, but had a useful tow into the tricky 22. I'm beginning to feel that BW is an over-rated area.
