Orienteering at last. And I knew there'd be brambles and brashings so didn't even mind them much. Felt a bit shaky running in terrain and on rougher paths but that may be legs or eyes - don't know. Pushed as much as I could but only felt fast-ish when overtaking slower competitors. Did a lot of that, and navigated pretty competently, but result was ordinary. Lost 30 secs on one control in quarry, then struggled with the hill to 7. Found the wrong thicket at 10 and couldn't believe there'd be another one - there was. Tended to be careful over deadwood here and in green stuff and found myself happily walking quite a lot. Picked it up near the top of the hill where the running was better, then went straight (and therefore slow) through the longer legs 23 and 24. On the whole I feel my effort went into the navigation rather than the running so I should be pleased that that, on the whole, went well.

Jog/walked to get the eight furthest from assembly. They're so easy to find when you're going slow.

Was quicker, but started with fresher legs and had to work pretty hard. Hmmm.
