Bit disappointed, because I thought I'd go under 40 mins fairly easily. Wasn't helped by conflicting information on km signs and garmin display, the latter suggesting I was on schedule and so motivating me, but the former suggesting I was slightly outside. In practice, though, felt all wrong in the second kilometre and then worse until about the sixth. Could have been nutrition, although garmin gave the course length as 10.11km! Perhaps I had a bad racing line somewhere? Really enjoyed the atmosphere as usual. Quite looking forward to doing it all again on Wednesday now.
