Trail run (Houghton and Bignor) 1:15:00 [3] 12.5 km (6:00 / km)

Lu wanted to do a long off-road run at an easy pace so, starting at Whiteways, we went through Houghton Forest and up to Bignor, where we did a loop of the masts then came back along the South Downs Way. Pace was little more than a shuffle but I used some of the many hills to do efforts and felt like I got a good workout. Weather and views were lovely and the run was really enjoyable.

Climbing wall (Chichester College) 45:00 [2]

After a short induction session to learn about ropes, knots and belays we tackled some of the easier climbs several times each. Sticking religiously to the prescribed route wasn't easy, and any improvements we made in technique were definitely offset by the growing fatigue in the arms. We kept going until we could climb no more, then practised falling off. Great fun and good value.
