Mapping 1:40:00 [1]

The trails were hard enough to walk without snowshoes so I covered an area in Pine Grove that had only been GPS'd by Alex. I was able to cover about 2 km of trail and adjacent woods - all of which were thick or thick and wet.
If the weather holds up I should get out again next week.

Walking 32:00 [1]

Easyish walk on the treadmill at the club watching downhill skiing from Switzerland. Leg was hurting all the way down to my foot.

Swimming 15:00 [2]

Got the heart rate up doing the crawl with the wonky rotator cuff. And the hurt. Alternated with a slow lap of arms only breaststroke. Stretched things out in the hot tub afterwards.

Note

Well, I went to the new club (gym) and had a trainer/consultant do an assessment of my physical condition and my training goals for the future.
I need to lose a few pounds and my legs, in particular, need strengthening.
My flexibility is kinda crappy but my posture is ok.
He now knows that I have a hard time keeping to a regimen (long term) to strengthen my hip and the other bits and pieces that need work like my rotator cuff and weak back.
So, in a moment of weakness, or embarrasment, or maybe enlightenment, I signed up for a physical trainer to look after me for 16 weeks, or 32 sessions. With two breaks for holidays in March and April, the sessions will continue into May.
Nothing like a little monetary commitment to put the pressure on completing my conditioning goals!

Stationary Bike 34:00 [1]

That's 34 minutes on the bike with a good stretch afterwards. My first session with the physical trainer is on Monday. With the crappy weather it doesn't look like I will get outdoors until then.

Walking 1:02:00 [1]

A relatively slow walk on the slushy ice with the leg complaining most of the way. Felt better after a good stretch but didn't sleep very well last night. Sore and stiff this morning.

Skating - canal 30:00 [1]

Not on the canal but on the new skating trail at Lac des Loups. They say it's 3 km but it feels a lot shorter. Anyway, the leg was really bad. Had to stop after the first loop to untie my skate and let it relax.
The second loop felt a little better but I called it quits instead of a third. It was fun but I would rather be on the canal.
