Walking 50:00 [1] 5.0 km (10:00 / km)

On my feet all morning at the SS-O so a brisk walk was all I attempted. Hip feels better than any time in the last 2 weeks. Will try running to-morrow.

Walking 1:30:00 [1]

Hanging controls for the snowshoe-O. Was worried about the adductors dragging the snowshoes around but they were OK. Was able keep up a brisk tempo most of the time.

Walking 2:30:00 [1]

Setting up the snowshoe course at Nakkertok. Took it easy and the hip only complained a little. Until later in the evening when sitting - but feels OK this (Sat.) morning.

Stretch & Strength 30:00 [0]

Really a rest day. Plan to be in my feet (snowshoes) a lot over the next 3 days.

Wednesday Mar 7, 2012 #

Walking 55:00 [1] 5.0 km (11:00 / km)

Adductors and glutes stiff & sore all day. Almost turned back at one point but finally warmed up after a few more minutes.

Stationary Bike 50:00 [2]

Good spin with seat lowered to try to move the load off the hips and onto the quads. Adductor sensitive but overall felt pretty good. Iced the adductor and that worked to calm it down.
Will have to play with the seat height to find the optimum position.
Note - morning after - really stiff and sore in hip front and back. Bummer feeling good going to bed and waking up sore.

Walking 55:00 [1] 5.0 km (11:00 / km)

Cold & windy day. Thought a brisk walk would be good but I had to stop several times to stretch and work out knots in glute and adductors.
Very stiff afterwards - even with good stretch. Disappointing considering the general improvement since last Monday.
