Cool and breezy at Nakkertok so the bugs were no problem. Worked my way along the usable west edge of the areas where we have permission to cross.

Lots of work on the core. Abs are sore.

Down the Rideau and back on the west side. Busy pathway. Stopped to help a fellow fix a flat. My emergency mini-pump finally came in handy.

Nice walk in the light rain through the old neighbourhood and back by Otterson. Checked out all the gardens for new ideas.

Super hot and humid day. Had planned a bike ride but chores got in the way. Also giving my back a rest after the cottage visit.

Quick ride down the canal and back the other side.

At the cottage, lots of raking and shuffling things like boats and lumber around for the spring-clean up.

Stu, our coach, said it would be a gentle workout. He lied. No impact but lots of hurt in the legs and abs.
A couple of steady hours working in the garden too. More to do, but I Stopped before my back complained.

Very tough class focusing on the shoulders but covering all the bits and pieces. This was not a "warm-up to the day" class. Lots of work in the garden so I am pretty tired.

Easy stretching class focussing on the upper body. Did get me moving.

Nice ride down the Rideau to the tennis club. Much harder work on the way back against the wind. Was up in zone 2 for most of the ride.

A tough class with intervals for cardio training. Tired but feeling warmed up for the day.

First day of summer mapping at Nakkertok. Bugs were bugging but not biting. Covered one of the thicker/marshy areas to get it out of the way.

Focus was on the hip area which was good for me for my back and hips. Felt energized afterwards instead of tired.
All the ( now reopening) bakery goodies that I have been consuming is lifting my spirits and my weight. : )

Beautiful day for a ride with mumsey on the canal-Ottawa-Trillium route. Stopped for a quick look at the tulips near Dow's Lake.

Relatively easy class, only the abdominal roll up from the floor defeats me. And it’s not even close.

Nice ride down the Rideau to visit Nicole. The bike paths were very busy. Much less traffic coming back along the west side through Carleton U.

Relatively easy session with emphasis on upper body strength using the fitness bands. Need new ones - mine burst half-way through the exercises.

Walking 38:00 [2]

Down to the beach where I bumped into friends for a socially distant walk to the falls. 1 Mount Mooney on the way back where I didn't have to stop but was quite cramped up.

Facebook class again. Couldn’t do all the back bending exercises but otherwise a good start to the day.
Planned a bike ride in the afternoon but chores got in the way.

More strength than stretch this morning in the Facebook e-class. Back felt ok but it’s still very stiff. All the moves are easy except those that require bending in the lower back.

Nice walk with mumsey up the Rideau towards Hunt Club. Mets lots of friends along the river path. Actual adventure time was almost 2 hours counting all the socializing, picture taking, etc.

Relatively easy e-class except for some of the lower back movements. Still very stiff down there. Otherwise, I felt better overall after the class.
Still have some bent-over gardening to do, so I will have to be careful.

Walking 29:00 [3]

Cool sunny day. Wore a toque and gloves! Leg cramped up on me for a short while. Lots of people out for a walk.

The class focussed on the lower body, particularly the glutes. My stomach was very upset after the session, not sure which exercise was the culprit. The back was OK.

Nice walk with mumsey down the river and back cross-country. Lots of cyclists but not many families in the just-opened park. Too cold maybe.

A gentler S&S with the Movement Union e-class. Obvious that my abs need work! My stiff back is improving somewhat. Too cold for gardening today - yikes, it's snowing again!

Took it easy on the back during the class. Lots of stretching, extra arm exercises.

Nice walk on a cool day with Brian & Lynn around Mooney's Bay park. The canal has filled up and the bay water line is just under the docks.
I expect to see a lot of socially-distancing canoes out soon.

Tough class with lots of strength moves. Back was stiff when I got out of bed. Always better after the class and a bit of extra stretching.

Went exploring around the Hogsback locks to see the new detours for hikers and bikers around the bridge reconstruction. Ended up walking further to see if the local ice cream shop was open yet. Nope. A freshly scooped double ice cream cone will be a nice end-of-quarantine milestone.

Lots of stretching and Pilates moves in this mornings class. First thing in the morning my back is very stiff, responds well to all the stretching and walking, but by the next morning I am suffering again. This has been going on for over a week now. Maybe I Need a new mattress??

Walking 41:00 [2]

Clear but cool walk down to the beach and over to the falls to see what they are doing to the bridge. Road is closed but they are building a temporary bike/walkway to get over the river. Leg was good until I climbed Mt. Mooney. Then the calf was in full cramp mode.

The back was very stiff and sore yesterday - probably from gardening, so I didn’t do much except for some stretching - and stand-up gardening.
The online class this morning focussed on the lower body so there was no strain on the back and it did loosen up.

Short walk on a cool, windy day with mumsey.

Movement Union class with 150 virtual friends. Probably 10 that we really know. Back is always stiff in the morning. This class loosened it up!

Lots of people walking and cycling along the canal on a beautiful spring day. Stopped at Lynn & Brian’s to say hi. Back by the Arboretum.

Nice ride down the Rideau to the Somerset bridge, through Sandy Hill to visit Nicole (wasn’t home) and then back through Carleton U.
