Walking 1:05:00 [1]

Walked over to canal with Mumsey but had to turn around and loop over the tracks to make up an hour-long walk. Finally some spring weather!
Good stretch after.

Sunday Mar 30, 2014 #

Stationary Bike 50:00 [2]

Good spin watching the hockey game this afternoon. 15 minutes of stretch and strength afterwards.

Saturday Mar 29, 2014 #

Walking 56:00 [1]

Brisk walk with Mumsey around Revelstoke. First real exercise since Florida. Gained a couple of pounds, time to go back on the quasi- gluten free diet!

Wednesday Mar 26, 2014 #

Walking 1:30:00 [1]

Long beach walk looking for sharks teeth and other shells along Venice beach. No sharks teeth but a trillion other shells along the way. Great lunch on an Italian bistro. Must have gained 5 pounds this week.

Tuesday Mar 25, 2014 #

Walking 40:00 [1]

A couple of beach walks with Mumsey at Sanibel. Very windy so I am covered in salt and sand. Ate too much again at a good seafood restaurant. Double walk tomorrow!

Monday Mar 24, 2014 #

Walking 1:01:00 [1]

Brisk walk around the Tara estates subdivision in the gentle rain. Not a soul to be seen on the roads or the golf courses. Have scouted all the intertwining neighbourhoods by foot - need a bike.

Sunday Mar 23, 2014 #

Walking 1:07:00 [1]

Nice brisk walk with Mumsey around the subdivision here in Bradenton FLA.
Lots of wildlife, especially around a nearby reserve. Avoided the crowded beaches on a Sunday afternoon. Back there to-morrow.

Saturday Mar 22, 2014 #

Walking 2:00:00 [1]

Probably on my feet for the better part of 6 hours counting the control setup, control manning, and takedown.
Perfect day for orienteering at Fort Desoto near St. Petersburg. Many controls along the beach for a spectacular view. Dog tired but really enjoyed the day. About 250 participants, mostly cadets who provided Gord with the timing and start crews.

Walking 1:02:00 [1]

Nice walk with Mumsey around the Tara estates area here in Bradenton FLA. Two aligators, sand cranes, herons, etc. in the lagoons around the golf courses.

Walking 2:30:00 [1]

Setting up controls at Fort Desoto park near St. Petersburg with Gord and Mumsey. A few are on the edge of the bay in the forest and others along the beach. Beautiful setting. Should be great fun tomorrow watching the race.

Stretch & Strength 22:00 [2]

Lazy day packing and prepping for the trip to Florida. Feeling a little more rested than the last couple of days.

Sunday Mar 16, 2014 #

Walking 54:00 [1]

Revelstoke loop with Mumsy in a bitterly cold wind. Have been feeling tired the last few days - maybe fighting something?

Friday Mar 14, 2014 #

Walking 1:14:00 [1]

Brisk walk to Hartwell in mild temperatures. Good stretch afterwards. Feeling tired and restless and fed up with the crummy weather.

Wednesday Mar 12, 2014 #

Stationary Bike 40:00 [2]

Snowstorm outside so a good sweaty spin and then stretch and strength.

Tuesday Mar 11, 2014 #

Walking 54:00 [1]

Brisk walk with Mumsy around Revelstoke in the mild weather. Wore my big rubber-bottom boots to jump the puddles and they felt like cement blocks by the end. Good stretch afterwards.

Monday Mar 10, 2014 #

Walking 1:15:00 [1]

Brisk walk to Hartwell Locks dodging all the puddles. Canal is closed, skiing is sloppy, sidewalks often deep in puddles and slush. But it almost feels like spring!

Sunday Mar 9, 2014 #

XC Skiing 1:45:00 [2]

Super ski with Mumsy up from P19 and around the Taylor Lake loop. Sunny and -5 with most of the trail groomed this morning. Probably the longest continuous ski this winter. Adductors a bit sore but otherwise felt great.

Saturday Mar 8, 2014 #

XC Skiing 1:15:00 [2]

Lovely ski at Nakkertok with Mumsy. Sunny and +2 and good tracks. Glo borrowed waxless (Atomic skins) skis and liked them. My glide was a bit better than hers but not very much. And my soft wax filled up with debris so much I had to stop and scrape and touch up the wax half-way around. Now, do we spend $600 for a pair of skis we would only use a half-dozen times a season?

Friday Mar 7, 2014 #

Walking 59:00 [1]

Revelstoke loop with a side trek down to the river. First walk in +temperatures in a long time.

Thursday Mar 6, 2014 #

Skating - canal 1:02:44 [2]

Nice weather but the ice was very skateworn so I never got into a nice rhythm or glide. Might be the last skate as it warms up - finally!

Wednesday Mar 5, 2014 #

Walking 54:00 [1] 5.0 km (10:48 / km)

Good brisk walk around Revelstoke with Mumsy. Only -6, felt like spring!

Tuesday Mar 4, 2014 #

Skating - canal 1:02:20 [2] 15.8 km (3:57 / km)

Nice skate in -9C weather. Hip was very stiff starting out but it felt good after warming up. Aiming for the 60 minute barrier but I fell about 500m from the end. Snow was falling and hiding those damn pressure cracks.
Will try again on Thursday.

Sunday Mar 2, 2014 #

XC Skiing 1:30:00 [1]

Picking up flags and SI's after the meet. Colder than yesterday but full sunshine and great tracks. Really happy with the attendance at the event.
One of my best week-ends of skiing this winter. Now I really want spring to start so I can get moving on all the summer jobs left over from last year.

Saturday Mar 1, 2014 #

XC Skiing 3:20:00 [1]

Enjoyed the soft trails - even though we had to break trail in places - and milder temperatures putting out the SI units and checking all the sites. Two flags lost - hard to know why except that they both were at very windy spots. The deep new snow made it impossible to find them if they really blew away.
