Orienteering race (Men's Premier Leg 2) 1:17:31 [4] *** 7.7 km (10:04 / km) +371m 8:07 / km

Nightmare run, will do a full analysis when I find the map but....

Fitness in the legs not there, so moving at a snails pace from the off. Took it cautiously into #1 and hit it clean, same with #2 if a bit hesitant.

Then took what I thought was a safe route (incidentally not involving the climb) but completely blew it a 20min leg?!? On what should have been a 2-3min leg max, came up the wall and so should have been able to just pop off it, but came off too early and then spent the rest of the time thrashing around like an idiot. Once finally found it settled a bit and no howlers I can remember until the long leg, where I saw GG dropping off the edge of the cliff and followed the line, which proved to be too low, so grovelled back up the hill to the control.

Then switched off towards the end, didn't follow the golden rule and didn't check codes so punched the wrong boulder at #21 and that was it game over!!

Not a good day in the forest, need to focus and up the game
