Most of the day travelling back to a springlike Uppsala (some grass showing now :-D ), tired but went for the warm up of today's intervals. Short terrain intervals each finishing with an uphill. Looked good, will have to do that session sometime. Then home via food shop.

JK relay leg 1. This was the most fun race in ages, not often lining up with such a strong first leg! was wanting to practice a later leg but glad i did this. Apart from missing the right track to 1 and climbing too much to 3 it went well technically (v easy course but not much deviating from the most efficient route), just not having enough strength on the hills to keep up with Tess. tho am happy i managed to run anything at all today, v tired. too-much-coffee pains on the end loop, need to wean self off a bit i think.

A good race today, nothing to be miserable about this time! some minor time loss, i was getting away with not so accurate direction. no big mistakes and no real misses but seconds here and there. things to work on but the right approach today, attacking it from the beginning.

SO tired on the last 2km, hard to think straight. at least in part from multiple races so not too concerned. but unlike in Portugal i knew i needed to take more care when i was so tired and avoided misses.

good race practice for a fast WOC long race and lovely to be congratulated by so many people too! thankyou :-)

not a happy Easter bunny :-( much more disappointing than yesterday, which was one bad moment, but this was a whole bad race! i missed a lot of controls - inefficient with picking the right features to use and not relying on my compass when the features didn't look how i expected.

weak with the running too, more effort than it should be, not really getting a good stride unless i was going downhill. uphills slow. i dont think this can be from poor fitness, more likely from the amount of adrenaline yesterday (there was a lot, i was bouncing along quickly on the evening run, unusual for after a race!) urgh. was hoping for so much more, i train too hard to run that badly!

Orienteering - hard race (Sprint) 13:00 [4]

JK Sprint race. quite a simple course and area, nothing tricky. what could possibly go wrong?! feeling a bit rusty to start with, not so smooth a feeling, but improved as i went, getting more confident. caught Bodil H. with a few to go and finally saw the finish. so i stopped reading the map and ran there. which would have been great if i didnt have two controls left to punch (ran back for the last but not the penultimate). so sick of being so stupid :-(

on the other hand, Tess's encouragement worth more than any JK win! thanks, though i never did find you again to warm down, will have to catch up properly tomorrow!

Tisdagsbana on Wednesday. crazy. nice easy long run, a small group and only Lisa at the end (who also did all the map reading work!) good training to break in new Orocs a bit. Some tiny patches of bare ground and light for the first hour :-)
