Gardening - General 50:00 [1]

Awoke this morning with the day completely planned.

I had borrowed a trailer, filled it with cut up firewood from the storm, and planned to drive to Raymond Terrace dump which had a free green waste day on .... the only day available this month which was free.
Planned to take 3 loads there to get rid of all the cut up fallen trees.
Maitland now charges non-residents for green waste even on weekends so I was not going there (especially as I had more than 1 tonne of logs (as the weighbridge proved later from the multiple trips)).

Then reading attackpoint realised Belford HVC was TODAY not next week as per the original summary sheet on my fridge.
Damn.
Did the sums and could not work out any conceivable way I could do both.
Borrowed trailer meant to be returned this afternoon.

Dump opened at 9 am and shut at 2 pm.
Dump was a 20 minute one-way drive.
At least 10 to 15 minutes to unload and reload again.
HVC open between 9:30 am and 11:30 am.
Belford was a 50 minute one-way drive.

So unfortunately Orienteering got abandoned :-(.

7:30 am - 8:30 am
3 more poly trailers of leaves cleared with KC from fenceline and thrown on burning pile.

Then 2 trips back and forth to the dump each > 500 - 600 kg.
Elected to dump last trailers worth in the fire pit for a bonfire prior to October 1st Fire Ban.
Returned trailer.
Finished my midday.

Time approximate.
With KC working wonders on the rake managed more than 10 more poly trailers (lost count so likely to be much more) and spent most of the afternoon moving trailers and burning.
Yard looking much more in control.
One more similar weekend should break the backlog.
Aiming to get it all done before October 1st Fire Ban.

From Wallalong Fire Pit
Ash from approximately 50-60 poly trailers of leaves burnt over the last 2 months.

From Wallalong Fire Pit
Remaining firewood for a bonfire.
