Running late, beat a hasty to the start with a potty stop en route. Pretty 90ishmuch ran through clear/check, one minute verification punch grabbed map off table and hit the start box.... I think I was about 3 minutes past my start time (first official start)

Nice woods, mostly decent navigation apart from long leg to 10 - not one but two cerebral wanderings. Body not fast, and brain got tired/sloppy after 60 minutes. I'm sure I'm well down the list again today. But I finished before then rain started - most did not...

4.5 hours of video - mostly wandering the woods by the last few controls, some occasional jogging and sprint chases. Mostly raining, so doing a lot of this under cover of umbrella. Also cramping in both legs which put a damper on the enthusiasm to run more.

A few rusty mistakes and one misplaced control (a few folks agree). Wore the old (too small) ORocs. Feet felt good and stable. May just race in the tight narrow ones and wear the larger shoes when stability is not essential.

Misread 2.5m contours on 1 and quickly found myself SE of control before recognizing Hill and correcting. 2-4 ok, 5 drifted R, misread trail wiggle, hunting in green too long. 6 ok, low on 7 checking lower fork. 8 mishung, crossed two distinct reentrants before finding it N of circle and farther from road. 9 got high, difference between ditch and gully not evident in terrain, but clue was gully so went downhill. 10 ok. 11 went straight into green, got pushed high by greenbrier into small rentrant N of circle - no confidence on location, went S uphill from stream until located. 12 & 13 simple - there was actually a very narrow, very straight white gap through undergrowth bars - so went straight. Unimpressive run, probably beaten by most everyone on course.

Spent a few hours after run shooting video for OUSA. Lots of standing/waiting with bursts of running. Tough to catch a lot of folks with starts spread out so much - 1 person at a time, 2 minute intervals. Hopefully I got some useful stuff - HD video at 60fps, so pulling stills mostly. No internet at venue or camp so not setting up laptop. Optimistically thought about puzzlefriday. But 2 hour drive to camp, dinner and shower trumped that....
