{update} Not. A. Single. Car. in the parking garage. I've never seen that happen, even on xmas & new years or overnight trips in to work in raging snowstorms.

Long solo day at work. Brought running gear but just didn't feel like going out, not even for a walk. Be plenty of time for that in the days ahead...

Awake at the usual time, but dark out and no immediate compulsion to actually get up, so I didn't. Still have sinus crap, not bothering me, but technically "sick".

Sun came out, so I dug deep into my bag of stuff and came up with.... shorts!! Kept a long sleeve on, but haven't been in shorts for quite a while. Started out at a moderate pace, then just kept upping the pace effort over the course of 5 miles, then slow jog for the last bit. Felt good.. Hmm, appears to pretty close to, if not, a PR for this route. Hard to say since I didn't push the last bit. But a good sign of general fitness for mid March.

Hills, in the daylight, good crowd and not raining. And ran them I did - hard. Pushed right from the start, hard all the way up the carriage road to the summit. A short pause, then a spirited jaunt down pink to the waterfall, around and up the stairs, another pause. Then I headed up the trail by the pond and then pointed myself up the hill off trail for some terrain work. Topped out again about 10 minutes before sunset (not that we would see it tonight, but the group was gathering up top at 6:50). So Mike & I did a fast out/back to the chimney, I took one good digger here, but no blood. A pause back at the summit, then a moderate pace back down to the waterfall and back to the parking area. Then I did a short jog/walk up the carriage path to join up with Anna & Jackson who were walking down in the dim (wasn't sure if they had lights with them). A good solid workout, aside from the crash.

Such a nice day, went for a hike w/ Anna & Jackson on the Hop River Trail from the notch before headed back to the house for birthday dinner w/ Hayden. My youngest is 19! Yikes!
