woohoo a run!! albeit likely a PW at the 5km distance.
Doctor ordered a rehab program of 1/4m walk, 1/4m jog, 2.5 miles total on alternate days for the next 4-6 weeks. My GPS will do audible alerts at 500m intervals so I elected to modify my routine to 500m walk, 500m jog with a 5km total. So I'm stretching the protocol slightly, but its easier than adjusting the GPS to imperial units... yeah, that's my excuse...

Putting together a basemap of UConn campus, initially the campus core, but would like to eventually include some of the peripheral wooded areas. Will basemap as much as I can from maps, aerials & memory, then take map out for test runs & corrections during extended lunch breaks since I'll be working long days for a while with a staffer out on maternity. Probably 5 hours computer work today.
Saw the ortho PA this afternoon. Good news, I can begin running again, bad news, if I follow their prescribed plan (a plan specifically for runners, I should add) I will be back up to running a 5k green course by mid October and should be able to be back to a reasonable 30mpw training volume by Christmas.
My 'runs' for the next 8-12 weeks are so short, they make orienteering sprints seem like long events...
No restrictions on cycling though, so I guess I'll start bike commuting next week and get my aerobic endurance base back on the bike...
At least the corn maze champs should be short enough for me...
