Run - Trail long (Soapstone) 1:55:36 [3] 16.12 km (7:10 / km) +450m 6:18 / km
shoes: 340 ORoc 2010

w/ Deb & Dom - Soapstone course S of Gulf Rd - skipped Killer hill (went around N side) and skipped the stream bed. Good steady run, good company...
10 AM

Orienteering race (Stratton Green) 40:38 [4] *** 4.0 km (10:10 / km)
14c weight:76.8kg shoes: 212 X-Talon 2012

splits printer malfunction, just estimate for now. Junky woods due to snowtober remnants, very hard to hold a straight line in the woods. Longer course on a 1:5000 map - I really should have taken more roundabout trail routes as they really weren't that far out of the way...

7 AM

Run - Trail (Nipmuck course marking) 1:27:51 [2] 8.5 km (10:20 / km) +150m 9:30 / km
shoes: 340 ORoc 2010

Perry Hill to Oakes & back. Some easy running, some hiking. Carrying signage and stapler, plus backpack. Stopped to chat with Nipmuck Dave (twice) and Ned K. And of course lots of pauses to put up signage so folks don't go running down the wrong trail next weekend... Trails are in gorgeous shape.

Tried taking perpeteum powder in gel flasks and consuming it dry. Mixes with saliva into a paste and goes down easy. Follow with water/nuun. Basically the same thing as packing the perpeteum chews, but more compact, easier to carry, less gumming in the teeth and definitely cheaper. A little weird at first, but effective as long as you don't aspirate the powder up your nose - not recommended.
9 AM

Run - Trail (Nipmuck course marking) 46:52 [2] 4.05 km (11:34 / km) +120m 10:05 / km
shoes: 340 ORoc 2010

Eastford Rd S to Natchaug junction and then Bibi Falls and back. Stopped to chat with Ned (again) and more sign posting. Still gorgeous out. More walking on this one, just kind of letting the mind wander... Took a look around the designated backpacking campsite (DEEP reservations required). A good spot to bring some of the scouts.
10 AM

Run - Mixed (Nipmuck course marking) 12:00 [2] 1.0 km (12:00 / km)
shoes: 340 ORoc 2010

From Iron Mine to the end of the carriage road (tricky turn). And then up to mark the zig-zag across Rt 89. No GPS, just estimated.

Longsword 30:00 [1]

Didn't make it to swords tonight, so got a half hour of drills in as the light faded away to darkness. Gorgeous sunset. Would have preferred to get 2.5 hours on the log instead of 0.5, but its not a zero..

Windy, rainy - why not go for a run? At least I had time today. Felt good, picked up the pace a bit the last couple km.
