Orienteering (Crandalls) 3:00:00 [3] 12.0 km (15:00 / km)
shoes: NB 474

7-9 - Hanging flags for 3 courses in the AM - overcast and damn nippy out.
9-10 - Shooting some footage for CPTV 'All Things Connecicut' show - to air sometime in April
10-1 - WCOC meet - low key, turnout around 25 or so
1-3 - cub scout meet (about 24 kids and parents) all did well
4-5 - retrieving A & W sprints with Jackson.

Home for birthday dinner of baked ziti followed by warm gingerbread and whipped cream - yum...

no real running, but plenty of time in the woods...

I was considering getting my long run in this week by running to/from work - like Ross, but 12 miles each way. But now I'm thinking not so likely, at least not tomorrow.....

Orienteering (Sprint Test Run) 38:00 [3] 5.94 km (6:24 / km) +200m 5:29 / km
shoes: NB 474

Test running both sprint courses - distance and time includes easy run to start (uphill, though more direct than the route folks will take Sunday) as well as jacket shedding and pee break between the runs. My times were around 15-16 minutes per course and I feel I was moving well, but not pushing the pace excessively. Perhaps Joe, J-Man or Rosstopher can go sub 12 minutes... Final course designs came out around just shy of 2.3 km each.

Although the woods are quite dry, the steeper downhill slopes are still pretty slippery with dry leaves and I barely averted a major face plant in a somewhat rocky area. Straight line down the slope may not always prove to be the fastest route choice...

Run - Trail (Shelter Falls) 44:51 [3] 8.9 km (5:02 / km) +138m 4:41 / km
shoes: NB 474

in to work early, so after generator tests and spraying, I snuck out for an early run at 8:30. Pace ok, but felt tough, especially in the first half. I suppose that's what I get for slacking most of the past week...

Note
rhr:48

Not a lot of time to sneak in a run lately, and I haven't been motivated enough to do a short road run. Get through this weekends local meet, then try to find more time to run (or bike)

Fieldwork (field checking) 1:00:00 [1]
shoes: NB 474

About an hour rechecking and tweaking control locations.

Bike - Recumbent 5:00 [1] 1.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Slipstream

Dragged the bike up from the cellar before Anna got home, needs a good cleaning and lube job. But hopefully get it back on the road next week. Going to move the rack from the front to the rear, so spent some time modifying brackets - need some additional hardware, so the seat is currently off.
