Needed to get out - Lyme still leaving me feeling pretty wasted, but decided to see if I could get out to the Hare road turnaround (2.35) in less than 10 minutes, which used to be a benchmark. Lately its been closer to 11 minutes. Did it in 9:26 at a solid level 4 pace, felt good, but certainly not maintainable at that pace. Decided at the turnaround to run up Hare a bit to the 2.5km mark and then turnaround to make it an even 5km. Sluggish level 3 all the way back - but no real aches or pains (yet).
Most of my staff on vacation next week, so no real need to get in ultra early to get stuff done - its going to be pretty quiet and rainy anyway - so I may try to leave early, do a loop at Crandalls and then head in from there.
Walked out to the lake with the kids - boys 'fished' for a while (that's a euphemism for installing fishing gear in various overhead locations), then walked back. Very slow pace as Hayden in particular is a pretty pokey walker, but a fine day to be out and much better than hanging around in the house all morning...
My only training for last week is about to fall off the chart - I guess I should endeavor to do something remotely like training this afternoon - but probably won't get to it... Maybe a bike ride with Hayden after the thunderstorms roll through...
