Run - Trail (Gerry's Folly) 28:57 [3] 6.4 km (4:31 / km)

7:00am - sunny, pleasant. Ran a pace run w/ map out and back on main dirt road up the middle of basemap - slightly negative splits (~25 seconds faster on return). Felt very fresh. I know this distance measurement was good (OCAD) so I think I need to get a wheel and measure the Crandalls route that I pace run on 2-3x per week as I have only been able to break 5min/km once and I am sure I routinely run that course faster than I ran this route this AM...[Brahmas - new]

Run - Trail (Soapstone) 1:09:35 [3] 11.0 km (6:20 / km)

8:00 - still sunny & pleasant (duh..) Planned on about an 8 miler with Jim Henderson, but short-cut it a little early. Nice pace, not too fast, felt very good at the end. [Brahmas]

Run - Trail (Crandalls) 18:46 [3] 3.68 km (5:06 / km)

5:50am - cloudy, muggy - Plan on running some O & an 8 mile trail run at Brainard later today, so I took this AM's run easy. Coasted along nicely on downhills, but very conservative on flats and uphills. Mold spores must be up as I have been battling asthma for a few days now. Not sleeping well because of it. [Estes]

Orienteering (Brainard) 1:19:54 [3] 8.2 km (9:45 / km)

4:15pm - sunny, mid 80's, humid - Set a course on a copy of the new map. The new map is nice, makes the terrain seem open and runnable. Problem is, its still the same rocky junk underfoot, lots of logging slash around and a storm a few weeks ago took out a lot of trees, visibility lousy, lots of detours. Made some errors, but basically just not nice running. May have to find some other event to run in October instead, perhaps Powissett. [Jukola Spiders]

Run - Trail (Brainard) 33:56 [4] 6.3 km (5:23 / km)

6:00pm - hooked up with Hartford Track Club to try their Thursday night trail run. However, on a hot day, I should not try to do three workouts. The lead group took off early, I hung back with the middle group who were talking about doing some real trails - Rich Fargo in this group, but really lost steam about 3 miles out, their pace was just too fast. Besides, most of it early on was on packed and/or paved jeep roads, not real trails. Left foot a bit sore and a blister forming on right big toe. Bailed out early. [Estes]

Run - Trail (Crandalls) 16:54 [4] 3.68 km (4:36 / km)

6:20am - sunny, 50ish, trails drying a little (finally). - Started out easy, began to pick up the pace around 2 minutes in, pushed the hill around 4 minutes and then tried to maintain a max pace for the duration, wound up tapering the pace off a bit by the Lodge, but all-in-all a good run. 5 seconds off my PR. Could probably set a new PR if I actually warmed up prior to running rather than using the first 3-5 minutes as a warmup. [Estes]

Run - Trail (Crandalls) 17:03 [3] 3.68 km (4:38 / km)

6:00am - cloudy, cool, trails muddy. Have not run in 3 days, so felt very fresh but did not push 100% either. [Jukola Spiders]
