Run - Trail (Sampler (Tempo)) 32:59 [4] 6.5 km (5:04 / km)

8:00 am - mid 20's, cloudy, snow just beginning. Ran the sampler - warm up on dirt road leading pack, picked up pace at first trail section, pushed hard to the end. About 3 minutes off my best time, but felt pretty good. Rest of pack was well back and must have opted for more mileage as they did not show up within 6-7 minutes of my finish. [Brahmas]

Run - Trail (Shenipsit SF) 1:03:30 [3] 10.0 km (6:21 / km)

8:00 am - 4F (damn cold), clear - ran out Soapstone Road over the mountain, picked up the outbound half marathon course for a bit, then ne on a dirt road to clearing and picked up the inbound half marathon course to the mountain, skirted mountain to east. Ran w/ Kevin and small group on dirt road, but left them behind once on trails (too cold to walk) [Jukola Spiders]

Run - Trail (Airport Run) 1:10:02 [3] 12.87 km (5:26 / km)

6:30 am - daybreak, clear, 10F - Ran with Kevin (Rich wimped) and started up the mountain as alpenglow danced in the trees up slope. Gorgeous view of the pre-dawn horizon as we passed the picnic area near the top. Hit the downhill at a respectable pace on packed snow - very good footing. Ran all the way out to Ellington Airport at Rt 83, then turned around for the return. Walked a little of the uphills early. Strong on the gradual uphill and pushed a run all the way back up Soapstone. [Brahmas]

Run - Trail (Skyline) 1:34:33 [2] 13.0 km (7:16 / km)

7:50am - cloudy, rainy, 61F (not a typo). A slow slick run as about an inch of ground (mud) over frozen ground made hills slick. Very windy, occasional driven rain kept the pace quite slow, but felt good to get out anyway... [Jukola Spiders]

Run - Trail (Sampler) 31:58 [3] 6.5 km (4:55 / km)

8:00 am - cloudy, 32F, icy trails - ran sampler with the usual suspects. After leaving the dirt road, I gradually distanced them as I was wearing O spikes and had better traction on ice. Depending upon weather / work, this may be my last run of the year... bummer... [Jukola Spiders]

Run - Trail (Shenipsit SF) 1:40:02 [3] 20.0 km (5:00 / km)

10:00 am - sunny, cold, ~12F - opted not to ride out to Five Ponds, instead I ran out the back door, picked up the Shenipsit Trail Northbound, basically traversed the forest northward on a combination of trails, dirt roads and x-c fartlek running. To top of Quarry trail in exactly one hour. Down Quarry trail to Gulf Rd. parking lot, then back up the mountain, skirting summit to east, picked up half marathon in reverse to third water stop, then ran home on Webster Road (part paved, yuchh..) [Estes]
Distance based upon percieved effort/pace.

Run - Trail (Sampler + ext Pond Loop) 1:04:20 [3] 11.0 km (5:51 / km)

8:00am - sunny, 8F, dusting of snow on ground (<1"). Ran w/ Kevin, Karl, Bruce, Deb & 2 others on original sampler route - I opted to head north before X-C to add some additional mileage. Deb opted to go with me. Went to northern section of SSF, up past grassland project and ran small trail over hill. Came back down and rejoined the sampler taking the 1/2 marathon route over woodchuck hill. Nice run. [Brahmas]

Wednesday Dec 6, 2000 #

Run - Trail (Sodom Road out & back) 48:18 [3] 9.0 km (5:22 / km)

5:30 pm - cold (~22F), getting overcast - a little moonlight. Ran on the dirt road north, across 190, up into northern section of Shenipsit SF to parking area then around and back. Ran w/ Kevin and Rich. Got 'nabbed' by the DEP cop for being in the forest after dark. Got away with verbal warning. (otherwise a $60 ticket) Nice run, hope to get a few more Wed PM runs in but will have to find another location. Possibly dirt road around Shenipsit Lake. [Brahmas]

Run - Trail (Soapstone ridge --> half) 1:02:50 [3] 12.0 km (5:14 / km)

8:00 am - very cold, clear - run ccw around mountain, out dirt road picking up half marathon course about 20 minutes out. Mix/match of old 1/2 course on the way back in. Ran w/ Ken Clark, Deb Schieffer, Karl Molitoris, Kevin Simons and two other folks. Stayed with Ken comfortably for about 30 minutes then lost him when stopped to tie shoe. Ran most of the way back in w/ Deb. [Brahmas]
