Orienteer race (Night-O) 1:00:00 [3] 6.05 km (9:55 / km)
shoes: Icebug Acceleritas-L

The most remarkable thing about this race is that I finished it in exactly 1 hr and no seconds!!!! Wow, that's a nice clean time. Wish I was faster but this is what I get these days.
I did miss number 11 and had to go back; really the map was just a bit hard to read at night with only one good map eye; but not because it was hard; the trails just seemed to blend into the yellow quite well. Fun run, it smelled (leaves) and looked like a good Halloween night with everyone dashing about with lights.
Park was definitely a sprint park. Great map, nice course and fun features. Thanks pfc.

more bleh feeling, and not pushing it at all because i have 2 week trip to Asia starting Sunday and I DO NOT want to be sick this time.
Another perfect night for a run.

still headachy and bodyachy, but a nice cool evening run listening to freakonomics was just fine.

Orienteer 1:30:00 [3]

I have been feeling ill, but very often even if I don't feel well I get a nice adrenaline, fun rush when orienteering so I decided to do the red.
But i got weak and icky feeling right off the bat, walking up the small hill.
Then my mind decided that maybe I could take a short cut across the swamp to 2, only 200 or 250 meters, and swamps this time of year can be dryer than they appear on the map, and the map had no black around the edge.
I slogged out about 100 meters or even more before getting to a depth I couldn't handle. Exhausting way to start a race, and it put me back a LOT, but I knew there was still a lot of fun orienteering to be had.
I never did get either my mind or body into anything over 50% mode, despite plenty more pep talks, so I gave up at six and walked slowly back to the start, went home and slept, watched Netflix the rest of the day and a good bit of Sunday.
I was hoping to at least have a fun GPS route through the swamp, but didn't even get my Garmin started correctly!
