Leinster Champs - Ran the long course ( you get a better feel for what the seniors are up against - respect)

I knew this would be hard - I can't remember the last time i ran for more than 1 .30 hours and it showed, the last 45 mins was just running by memory.
I was surprised that i finished in good enough form and my joints did'nt hurt so much - so that was good.

2hrs 14 mins - well down on seamus (1hr 37 mins) Hats off!

Kilbroney park sprint events - messed up the first two courses - too much of a hurry had to get to the finish without going to the last control.
Last two events better around 3 - 4 minutes

Igors maze courses - head to head racing at its best!
4 courses in about 5 mins real good fun!

Setting controls on Slievenagore for Saturdays event- had just dropped off the barriers for Igors maze.
Headed out at 10pm with 14 controls a map and headtorch.
Got back at 11.30pm - good night nav training!

Monday May 3, 2010 #

Hill run warm up/down 25:00 [2] 4.0 km (6:15 / km)


Warm up climbed from top carpark to training area near top of Sl Martin.
Jogged down past the Cloughmore stone
12 PM

Orienteering 1:10:00 [2] **** 8.0 km (8:45 / km)


Set controls and then shadowed Mark on a course concentrating on leg planning and attack points.
2 PM

Orienteering race 13:33 [5] **** 2.5 km (5:25 / km)


Divised a head to head race for pairs. runners set off to common first control then one goes anti-clockwise the other clockwise around a circular course (try to put each other off half way round) and then return to the same common control last for sprint finish (uphill!)

I set off against Sean first then Mark v Jack, JP v James S, Harry v Brendan and Kat v Andrea

was good fun but the sprint finish was a killer :)
