The first out of three super challenging exercises planned by Becky!
Following a small strip of the map, everything around it is removed. I managed pretty well until about 2/3 through. Never found the black cross and the little hill with four cliffs around it, back tracked a bit and scoped out that area, but couldn't get it to make sense, I was just S of the strip. Got back into it by the cairn and double boulders.

Had some trouble figuring out where the start was, while I didn't have a regular map with me.
The controls were marked with a small piece of neon tape and that just adds to the challenge, you had to be in the exact right spot to see it.
Took me a while to find 2, wasn't focused enough in my attack.
At 3 I was sure I was right but never found the tape, would have helped if I looked at the control definition, it was at a cliff which was removed from the map and I was looking in the reentrant.
Leaving 6 it was so nice to run down that reentrant that I forgot to focus and veered off in the wrong direction so had trouble finding 7.
Pretty sure I was by 8 but didn't see a tape there either, just got a nose bleed.
Going to 9 I was stupid, just ran down towards the lowest part, way off to the right.
Slightly off for 15, realized and corrected.
This was fun!

Ugh, was pretty tired both in my legs and brain after the first two exercises. Becky was at the start and I asked if she had an extra regular map, she didn't, so I couldn't cheat..
1 went well, just stood around a bit before I saw the tape
2 left 1 in the wrong direction, then saw a bunch of people and got distracted, figured it out after a while though
3 went to the same place as I thought was the right place for the other course's number 8
4 kind of wanted to quit by then but since I told Neil to hang streamers on that loop I would have felt bad not running it
5 ok
6 checked out a bunch of spurs, didn't find the tape
7 ok
8 ok
9 I must have been in the right spot, but didn't find the tape
10 tough rocky climb! then mountain laurel
11 ok
12 not really paying attention, went a bit too far left from the line
13 ok
14 ok
I was beat after this, but it would have been cool to do a short course with a regular map and regular orienteering flags, it probably would have felt really easy!
