run 38:50 [2] 8.09 km (4:48 / km) +58m 4:38 / km
(sick)

Woke up with a sore throat :-(

After taking Anne-Louise to the train station in Varberg I wanted to visit Kallbadhuset. It was a raw cold wind and rain that whipped me in the face as I was heading south on Strandpromenaden. Figured a run + sauna/cold bathing would either cure me or make the cold break out for real..

walk 43:38 [1] 3.34 km (13:05 / km) +2m 13:03 / km

A walk along the water in Olofsbo and then we drove over to Glommen to take a look at Glumsten. Anne-Louise & I kicked butt on the girls team in Trivial Pursuit :-)
And of course we watched "Grevinnan och betjänten" which is also a Danish New Years Eve tradition "Halvfemsårs fødselsdagen"

Anne-Louise and I went to Dranstugan to do some orienteering. Really nice day, cold but sunny.
Today I ran the D21 course, 3.7 km, in the same area where I ran the other day, but none of the controls were the same, so none of them were marked. Legs felt tired and feet turned to ice cubes after I soaked them in the marshes. Stopped early for #4, the #5 split is the right spot. Then had trouble finding a good route to #7, also got to it but did an extra loop to make sure I was right. On the way to #11 there was an unmapped cut-down-area which made me run in the wrong direction (didn't have a compass). The way to #13 was slow due to hesitation and lots of cut down trees. Ran into some barbed wire going for #14, guess that wasn't there for the event.
Tove Alexandersson won this event, her time was 30.29

Again I started too late and ran out of daylight. H55 from Hallands 3-dagars, stage 3. Really tough running. Did a parallell error and first misspunched #3. Was going to enter the woods for #5 when I realized it was too dark to see the map under the trees, so decided to head back.

run 22:13 [2] 4.33 km (5:08 / km) +50m 4:51 / km

on bigger trails and roads as it was quickly getting darker

trail run (night) 44:29 [2] 7.55 km (5:54 / km) +121m 5:27 / km

Drove to Jönköping/Bankeryd to visit my friend Sara. We went for a run on the lit up trail, two laps. Pretty hilly and running along Vättern we could see Huskvarna on the other side.

strength 12:00 [2]

Showed Sara some of the Rockgympa exercises, in their driveway. Unfortunately her sons had a stomach bug so we stayed at her sister's to hopefully avoid it.

Errands in Varberg took longer than expected so didn't have enough daylight to do both courses I had planned. Just did a 2.9 km course, H55/D45 1st stage of Hallands 3-dagars.
Spent some extra time making sure I was in the right place for the controls (misspunched 1 and the second split is where it actually was). Didn't have control descriptions. And ran without a compass just like yesterday, forces me to have a better map contact. Fun course in a small area.

Picked up maps from my dad's brother Ingemar, he was course setter for their event in the spring. Got the D21 course but he also gave me a map with 20 controls which still are marked so decided to go for them. Started by IK Dran's clubhouse. It was raining. So great to get out in these woods, had a smile on my face as I bounced around the beautiful green moss covered hills. Also got reminded of how tough the marshes are here.
