strength (boogie boarding) 40:00 [2]

Perfect beach day!! We went to Watch Hill, RI and Rob & Becky came along.
Mike & I have been up there a few times before but it has been too hot, too humid or too violent waves.. this day it was perfect!!
We boogie boarded, maybe 2 x 20min, quite hard work, fighting with the waves. And we had some awesome rides, side by side, pushed by the powerful white foam, screaming of happiness =)

Later we went to this cool neighborhood in Providence which Mike & I stumbled upon last year and we've been wanting to go back to Julian's to eat.

Note

The specialist examined me. He did not share the other doctor's suspicion of that my SI-joint is inflamed. He couldn't find anything wrong and said that the only way my left leg problems (hamstring, knee, glute) could be connected would be if a disc is pushing on a nerve. They took a spine x-ray but found nothing. He gave me a prescription of Diclofenac and told me to come back if I'm still in pain after the treatment. When I asked about the knee numbness that really bothers me while running he said "most runners have some kind of knee problems".

run (elliptical) 10:00 [1]

pilates 1:00:00 [2]

Note

Well, it feels good while running and while doing pilates.. but now I'm in pain! Found some stuff to get my screen, keyboard & mouse up to a level where I can work standing up.

Note

Talked to mom & dad. Dad has had back problems. He recommends a 7 day 3 x voltaren pill treatment AND REST! (Instead of getting a cortizone shot.)
Pappa: "Lova nu att du lyssnar på mig för en gångs skull"
Jag: "Ja"
Pappa: "En gång till.."

trail run 38:42 [2] 7.09 km (5:27 / km) +74m 5:11 / km

At West Rock. First loop with Mike and around the lake by myself. Beautiful evening.

Note

Went to see the same hot-shot-sports-doctor that I saw back in March for my hamstring pain in the left leg.
I'm glad I gave him another chance, this time he took his time and explained things better. He thinks my left SI-joint is inflamed and I have another appointment with a specialist Friday. Might get a cortizone shot.

I also asked the doctor about my numb and awkward knee. He said that it's probably from the bike flip I did last summer where I landed on my left knee. Those kind of hits on the knee cap can cause, damage to cartilage and fat pad. He did a check of my knee cap and thought it felt "pretty damn good" (?) so I shouldn't worry as long as it's not hurting.

My problems with going to the doctor: 1) get to it and book an appointment, health should go first! 2) when I'm there I'm kind of nervous while it's so important to me. I only listen to if it's good or bad news and forget to pay attention to details.

run (elliptical) 10:00 [1]

pilates 1:00:00 [2]

Now that we've moved I had to switch my morning routine and go straight from gym to work.. which means I can stay for the whole class, love the stretches we do in the end!

trail run 51:42 [1] 8.16 km (6:20 / km) +152m 5:48 / km

Easy run with Mike. A week's rest from running and biking didn't make a difference for my glute/back pain. Felt pretty good out there.
