Had been hoping to do La Tournette but oh boy was it raining, with the threat of thunder/lightning too, the open summit seemed inadvisable. Asked Ruth and got a good recommendation of Mt. Joigny.
Nice loop, bit of climb in forest to start, in the rain. Then a cool ridge with open sections and forest sections with a nice cliff to one side, in the rain. One slippery rock section, but low consequences only falling into trees. Then it started to rain even harder, but the clouds cleared a bit so got some views which was nice. Final push past some cliffs up Joigny summit. Was getting a bit hungry then but it wasn't really the weather for sitting and eating my sandwich so pushed on, even jogged a bit on the downhill. Flat section back towards the car then, met a hunter guy, then heard him shoot about 10 mins later. Small climb up to the car. As soon as I was inside it, sun came out. Classic.
Market in Aix in the morning, Indian for lunch. Then brought Gina to Geneva to stay in her hotel. We went to the UN building and then had a lovely wander around the botanic gardens.

Paddle Boarding on the lake with G. From Aix towards Brison and back. Lovely sunny day for it. Took a bit to get back into the technique. Pleasant and peaceful. Until we played some gladiator battles at the end.

Compulsory Dent Du Chat
Another overcast day, with clouds rolling through the hill. Patches were foggy on the way up in the forest. No views up top, except very briefly. Loads of flying ants though for some reason. Once off the actual summit, I thought I saw a flash in the sky. Definitely heard rumbling thunder in the forest on the way down so that was maybe slightly sketch.
