Walk with Gina on Montserrat. Beautiful day and we had a great time just randomising about on the hill in a general upward direction. Eventually reached a point where no further progress was possible without ropes so we took in the fantastic views and returned. Great day. GPS data is from Gina and it's pretty bad.

Hill run since it is Wednesday. Went up the hills to the north of barcelona. Started off quite steep getting up to the running track that goes along them south side. Got up there and already great views. Went around then and up the nose on a lovely path up to the first summit. Took some photos. Then I dropped into the next valley and ran along a fantastic trail down there. Almost got taken out by a mountain biker at one stage though! Then climbed again up to the top. This was a tough climb and the legs were feeling a bit tired. More photos and looked at some WWII gun turrent placements that were there. Then a great descent down the nose. Super slidy though in my shoes and with the path being smooth rock with a coating of dust. Came down through the rose garden which would make an unbelievably good micro sprint. Then along Ave. Diagonal and into the royal palace for a lap. Found a cool bamboo forest in here, though I also met a couple copulating. Then back home. Nice run though I underestimated the distance it would be. Not to unhappy with that though since I am really tired due to the curtains in my room being terrible so I keep waking up really early.

I forgot to stop the timer when I got back so I took off the time at the end where I was back.

Pre breakfast run. Decided I'd go have a look at Camp Nou since I'm so close. Not as nice a run as yesterday but not bad by any means. Got a bit stuck in some fenced park and was running around looking for a way out for a bit. Saw the stadium. It's big. Looks like a stadium to be fair. Came back a slightly different way but lost some time as I still haven't quite worked out the story with crossing roads. It seems everyone waits for the lights.

Again severe garmin trouble. The screen would turn on and off randomly and would only show me some stuff I have never seen before and don't know what it means.

This evening's plan was to run along the path to the south of Monjuic castle. This meant a decent length run and a fair bit of climb. It was totally worth it though! Down the road I started off quick enough but that was grand it was downhill. Passed some nice buildings. Then I got into town proper and I slowed down a lot due to road crossings. I had been intending to go up ave reina maria christina but there was some kind of car show on so I had to go around. This is where the climb started and boy was it a climb. Lots of steps and it felt pretty steep. It was lovely though, through all the little parks. Saw a little cat. Passed a cyclist. The top was great and I stopped to take a few photos. Ran along the path then. The view of the sea was hampered by the massive array of docklands that I hadn't anticipated but it was still decent. Nice descent then. Saw some weird buildings that I think was a graveyard. Came back down through the museum of art. Took some more pics. And then home back the way I came.

Happy with this run though looking forward to the hills tomorrow. Got some sunglasses, a singlet and shorts in Decathlon so will try them out!

In Barcelona for the next week doing a work training course. Would like to do a pretty big week of running and use it to see some of the sights as I'll be busy during the days. We shall have to see though what the story is exactly.

Monday's easy run, in Barcelona!

Lovely day out so I had two things I was thinking of, the hills or montjuic. Montjuic is about 6km away so I said I'd do that tomorrow and head up and have a little explore. Did just that and had a great time! Missed the first little park I wanted to go through but meh I ran up some cool little alleys instead. After crossing this decent sized road I was in a little park. Very nice. I climbed up the hill and it was a fantastic open forest. I kept climbing but as it was supposed to be an easy run I zigzagged a bit. Eventually the slope kicked up a lot so I found a great viewing spot and took a picture or two. Turns out I was pretty close to having got up to the running/cycling track that is along the side of the hill. Then I went down. Randomised westwards, found another park thingy. This had a fun little castle in it that had oddly been converted to toilets. Then a nice hirpin descent and back onto the street. Picked up some more parks on the way home too. The climb up the 5 flights of stairs is also included in this :)

Data is from my phone as I'm having some Garmin issues. Definitely less accurate than the Garmin, though not too bad.
