Orienteering race 41:00 [4]

Billnäs middle dist. in Fagervik. 5,1 km D21A.
16./~50.
Ok start for the new season. I didn't make any mistakes, only small hesitating couple of times. Running pace wasn't really fast but I don't mind.

Confusing episodes both in the start and in the finish but the part in between was fine :). When I went to the start place I checked my starting time and bib number at the board, as always. It was 12.24 and 128. When it was the time they didn't however say my name and when I asked about it, man who shouted the names said that my starting time is 12.26. I went back to the board and checked again and it was 12.24. I told that to the man and the answer was "Oh, yes yes, but we have changed your starting time". "Aha, okei..?" (There were me and Eija from the same club starting within 4 minutes so that's why). It felt weird but luckily I forgot it while running.
When I came to finish I didn't get any result and people at result service couldn't tell why and what had gone wrong. They got the final result for me but not the split times. It looked like my name didn't exist in their system at all.

Not so big deal after all but a little bit extraordinary. Changing starting times is quite risky if you do it so late and don't put it in all the possible places and lists.

Felt bad. I assumed that I should do something like that before the Sunday's race. Well, it's done now. It reminded me again why orienteering is my sport and not road running.
