Jog down the length of Pukekura. Capped it at 20mins as neither the knee nor my poor munched toes were up for more. Very responsibly listened to my body and walked home :)
Good to get some fresh air though.

Pleasantly surprised, having been warned of the potential simplicity of the course setting. Bit of a modular map, with 3 technical areas separated by patches of hard running across fields etc. The bits in the schools were tight and technical, and the bit in the stock yards kept you on your toes toward the end.
Knee was a bit grumpy after two days in teh forest (fair enough), but fine once going. Blisters held out too. Toes were mank as after though.

NZ middle champs - Osgiliath

Awesome terrain, love it. Slipped up on # when i made a parallel error in the light green. Put the foot down after that to catch up with Immy, and pushed hard through the white forest. Slowed down for the macrocarpa detail, and was happy to come through that fairly unscathed, bar getting stuck trying to cross a dark green patch. Then lost needless time back out in the white, getting confused by not seeing a contour on the map, and misinterpreting the terrain. Back into the macrocarpa at the end (classic course setters trap), and took it practically at a walk to make sure I spiked the 2nd last control. Then boosted it out toward the finish.

Happy to get through my bogey event cleanly enough for the win :)
