Mtn Biking 2:40:00 [3] 18.0 km (8:53 / km) +800m 7:16 / km

Old ghost road day 1. 18km at a steady 4deg incline up through the native forest to lyell saddle. Cool to see the ghost towns and relics left from the gold mining days. The constant grind in the saddle was tough on my tender cheeks though!

Orienteering 24:30 [3] 4.2 km (5:50 / km) +120m 5:06 / km

Omax final at Wellington college..my first race there since world cup. Raved head to head against Laura but the course was such I barely.saw her. Had two sprint loops.in the college which were good and then a long gut busting one up on the side of mt vic. Atleast I got to experience the hill most people ran up at world cup first hand. It was nasty

Orienteering 8:25 [4] 2.0 km (4:13 / km)

Went to run the QBs sprint on awatapu college and west end school. Unfortunately the school was completely locked up though. So turned in to 2 intervals on awatapu. 2x1km in the end.

Platinum mines and sledge track, enroute to visiting the kids (actual kids) in palmy.
Pretty darn smashed on the hills. Stopped for a chat with a guy and his big fluffy dog on the way back. After our conversation he decided his dog and him maybe didn't have the legs to get up the hill today haha. I must have made it sound brutal! (Cos it was) :)

Missioning 2:00:00 [1] 8.0 km (15:00 / km) +200m 13:20 / km

Took the GG out to see the giant rata. The very indistinct trail is now a bit more trodden but the long haul up through the stream has more windfall along it now, which slowed things down. Still amazes me how you can't see this massive tree until you're about 10m away from it, thanks to the dense native bush.
