Orienteering 52:00 [3] 4.7 km (11:04 / km) +150m 9:32 / km

Momentbana on Svinesund. Went with the planning and direction course, (full map one side, blank map with just circles the other side). Stuck with it for 6 controls, then just used the normal map for the rest of the course because (a) it was fricking freezing with the cold slushly snow and (b) I need some practice on normal maps before doing any reduced map stuff.
Aside from being cold, body is feeling OK. Very unfit in the terrain, and the usual aches as things readjust. But OK.

Orienteering 1:09:00 [3] 8.7 km (7:56 / km) +170m 7:14 / km

Tio mass start training.
2 loops, first gaffled and second ungaffled. Let Kine and Agnes run off in front of me and tried to find a pace that I could maintain for at least the first loop, with the intention of taking the second loop as slow as I felt. Was to-ing and fro-ing with Idun for most of the first loop until I lost her somewhere on the way to the last control. Surprised then to pop out at the last control just behind Kine who was in the lead.
We all took different routes to #1 on the second loop and I slowed down a fair bit. Kine got away but Mia was still around until #4, where I lost my nav. Given it's 8 months since I've done any such orienteering, I was surprised I hung onto things that long to be honest.
Bumped into Agnes and an injured Karoline at #6, so helped Karoline back to the road and get picked up before heading back out to redo 3-6 with Agnes. Nailed #4 second time round.

Football warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.0 km (7:30 / km)

Football 1:00:00 [3] 4.5 km (13:20 / km)

First match of the season with our new coach. regional knock out cup.

Started on the bench, which I was expecting given I've been to all of 3 trainings so far. After about 20mins I got subbed on as centre back as we were seriously lacking speed in defence...so that was novel. Haven't played back there since, ever. I got to take goal kicks though, so that was fun!
Got shifted to left back after half time. Not quite sure why I got shifted there, but OK. I just followed what the actual defenders were doing ;) Haven't played left back since my first game in Canberra, after which I got permanently shifted to central mid for the rest of my time there. Before that, I don't think I've played left back since U13 Wellington reps.
Anyway, I eventually got subbed off. As I came off I maybe not so subtly told the coach I'm better in midfield. Ten minutes later, I got subbed into central mid. Scored within 5 minutes. ahaha. sheer coincidence, given I didn't score at all last year. but all well and good if it serves the purpose. Maybe next time I won't be put in defence ;)

Also, we got smashed.

Running warm up/down 15:00 [2] 2.25 km (6:40 / km)

Track intervals with the club. Thankfully got a lift down there, so just warm up around the track and running drills.

Running intervals 30:00 [4] 6.2 km (4:50 / km)

5*1000m intervals. Thought I'd see how 4min/kms felt, and just stop when I felt done.

The first interval I was checking my times every half lap, and ended up doing 4.03. After that, I forgot about times and just ran how I felt without looking at my watch; ended up doing 4.02, 4.00, 4.00, and 3.58. So pretty spot on in any case. Probably the first session ever where I've actually got faster each interval...even if that's apparently how intervals should be done?

Tomorrow will be interesting, I expect a range of new aches and pains in both the legs and torso.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 3.3 km (6:04 / km)

Strength and Conditioning 1:05:00 [1]

I'll find out tomorrow if my body copes with this better than last week...at least with circuits you get 15s breaks. Not so with Eva's session, so I chose my own little lie down and look at the ceiling breaks :)

Running 12:00 [1] 2.0 km (6:00 / km)

If I add the jog there and home together, it almost reaches the troggable threshold!
