Orienteering warm up/down 25:00 [2]

Orienteering 14:16 [3]

Another awesome uni campus map. Smooth enough run, which I was happy with. But a couple of hiccups:
a 90deg initial mistake out of the start triangle (~5-10s). And later lost 15-20s on the long leg when I got distracted at seeing Rachel, and missed the turn into the control. headed down the wrong alley for a bit - then managed to knock a little girl as I turned to correct, so paused to check she was OK. (She kind of looked horrified that she'd got in my way, but her dad assured me she was fine).

cool course, although the route choices all seemed very 50:50. Rachel and I took different routes on alot of the legs, but very similar times.

Relay L4. Really cool area and course. Especially enjoyed the long first control with plenty of route choice.

Botany Gift qual.

Interesting event. Not sure I'd have picked it for a NOL sprint, but oh well. The dunes at the beginning were different, bu mapped fine - just needed lines to be cut in places, like on the way to #1 so you could read the line of green crap you had to get through! I started off well, and concentrated hard on making sure I went the right way around the loop from the pivot. Unfortunately, although I got the order out of the pivot correct, I then turned my brain off and I completely forgot about the 3rd control in the loop...oops.

Legs were dead for the park run that made up 2/3rds of the course. Rachel took chunks out of my time in that part. But none of that matters, as we both missed the same control!

First time I've mp-d a sprint I think. Definitely the first time I've completely skipped a control! Can tick that off my bucket list of mistakes to make I guess...

Orienteering 21:09 [3]

Sprint twilight at Radford.
Rusty right from the beginning, taking the slower route to #1. Things got better navigationally, but not faster, from there. Legs were OK for the first half, but was definitely feeling Sunday's effort once I flipped onto the 2nd map.

Legs look battered but don't feel bad at all after sunday...just spent too long at uni today to go for a run. Considered going after dinner. But no.
