Orienteering 1:01:00 [3] 8.0 km (7:38 / km)

Putting controls out at Foxlow Flats. Out for 2 hours, but 60mins running time, so apparently it took me 60 mins to tie knots in 12 flags - take from that what you will.

Beaut day for it. And. Saw my first Wombat! Turns out there are live ones out there, not just dead bloated ones on the sides of roads! Was awesome to finally encounter what has become possibly my favourite and most respected of animals. (Built like a tank, can run 40km/hr, crushes it's enemies with it's bum, and has perfectly cubic poos - of which it produces hundreds each day to mark out it's territory. All that, and still finds the time to look cute. Wow).

Anyway, navigationally I was tired and very rough, lucky there were tapes out for where to put the controls!. But I blame the wrist compass I was using - great for being able to carry stuff and tie knots for flags, not so ideal for taking bearings on some vague gully spur!

Today I almost hit a Galah, as it unexpectedly (but slowly) moved towards my wheel, rather than away. Can only assume that what brain it has was half frozen.

finally got the xrays back. Nothing to be seen from the angles they took, which is nice. But doesn't stop it hurting.

Football 1:05:00 [4]

3rd match in a week. Absolutely shattered now!

Fricking freezing at kick off - first time I've worn a thermal for a Canberra match! (and gloves, and thick head band).
Game was good fun, we've all but given up on our season - we're simply not good enough for prem league this year. The game looked like a bunch of students and workers playing against a side of semi-professional W-league and former Matilda players. which is fine, cos that's exactly what it was.

...and then the SRA ($&@* grrr), turned the lights off on us!! They take 15mins min to warm back up, so we jogged around trying to stay warm, but only half of them came back on! So the game got called at 65mins. Hopefully we don't have to replay it, I think we know what the result was going to be ;)

still no feeling in fingers and toes at kick off...

Seems undergrad classes have started up again - getting across campus is now a mine field of pedestrians, cyclists, cars and buses.

2nd match in less than a week back, and another to come on Tuesday night! Back into the central mids, though as AM rather than the usual DM. Really enjoyed the switch in position, and worked well with Hol and Tess in the middle.
After a bit of an easy game (physically) on thurs, I was given a rude reintroduction to the league by Tuggernong, who seemed to pay the complement(?) of targeting me. Had my legs hacked out from under me a fair few times. Successfully avoided landing on my right elbow at all, however my L shoulder took a hard landing in the 1st half. God I wish my car had power steering, driving home was painful!

The game itself, close match. Referee killed it off with 10 mins to go however, by awarding a complete nothing of a penalty to Tuggers (they acknowledged as much too). That put us 3-1 down, and it ended 4-1 as we chased the game in the final 10.
