Running 1:13:00 [3]

Went for a run from Whareroa farm on my way up to see the Palmy Ingham clan. Headed up the mtb track, which wound and wound it's way endlessly before hitting the farm track on the ridge that magnus and I ran down some time earlier this year. Carried on and up to the back of the Akatarawas, where I was welcomed by the cool shade of the pine forest.
Rather than doing an out and back I decided to explore unknown terrain and try and make a loop of the run. So headed along the edges of the pines (rookie error, forgetting sunblock!), only hit one dead end whilst trying to find the tracks on my old map of the area.
Skirted past the bottom of the Wainui track - which would be awesome for another day, maybe an extra 1-1.5hrs of out and back single track in native bush to the peak?
Down steep forestry tracks in the pines and back to the carpark across what may or may not have been private land. But the sheep didn't seem to mind me :)

Note

Had a potluck with the O-gang, but missed the run as I was frantically sampling rocks at uni until 6.30!

Run around wilton bush with Mum this time.

She came up the hill with me, so beats dad I think :)

Running 40:00 [3]

Went for a cruise around wilton bush with Dad. He set a decent pace along the bottom! Then let me go up some bonus hills while he did the lower loop back to the car.
Nice and soft underfoot. Ah. New Zealand!

Headed over to the Pinnacle after the W-league match to knock a couple of peaks off the canberra peaks challenge. First time up Mt Painter, and stunning views just before sunset!
