Orienteering (AUS champs long) 1:20:22 [5]

Was good and had my glute stretch out/coffee stop on the way down to Slap Up Creek. Was still achey from the sprint before starting however, as expected really.
First 5 controls were control picking and went smoothly enough. I lost track of where I was exactly on the way to 6, but got there eventually. First really felt my leg on this control, and was the continuing theme for the entire run really. Just had no strength in my left leg to get me through the terrain, especiallywith all the fallen logs on the ground! Ran a full circle around no.8 without seeing the control, for my only real near-the-circle mistake of the run.
Other than that, my route choices were off on 14,15,and 16, as i tried to find cleaner running to give my sore left glute a break.
Really happy with my run and result considering my physical state. Grace and Hanny both had good runs and there's no way I could have beaten them on the day. Pleased to stay ahead of the rest of the field :)
Really look forward to returning to this area when I'm fully fit and on form!

Orienteering 15:16 [3]

a complex looking map around grammar school and some tricky short legs. Once I had my eye into the map though things went smoothly. Felt the glutes throughout, but nothing too bad. Just hit the wall around 16 with lack of any real training!
Happy with a smooth race, only mistake was at the penultimate control where there was an open gate to confuse matters.
Came away with the win which was awesome :)

warm up was ok, eased the sciatic nerve up. Warm down was painful!

went out to Maj W with Lauren, followed her around an old course. Didn't feel brilliant in the glutes.

Orienteering 35:00 [3]

2nd session with a map in hand - killing this last minute aus champs training!

Hit up the Pinnacle with Hanny. Far out the uphills were tough! Seriously fitness, please come back soon!!

As an extra challenge I left my compass at home. So borrowed a RH one off Hanny. Gave up on trying to use it on my RH after 3 controls, felt too wrong! But then struggled with it on my LH too, with exit directions off on every control! No compass could have been better I think...Or just don;t forget mine I guess?
