biking (commute) warm up/down 25:00 [3]

To bruce ridge from uni, and home afterwards

Running warm up/down 14:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2012

The first session of a new training program :)

Running intervals 18:00 [5]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2012

Easing back into proper training. 6x2min ints on bruce ridge single tracks. Just took alternating left and right options at each junction. Surprising how hard it is to remember if you went left or right at the last junction when you're going interval pace!
Next time I think I'll randomise it more by going left if I'm at an odd numbered split time, right if it's even.

All that aside, the intervals were ok. Got a bit breathless on the 5th interval, but got it under control.

Football 35:00 [4]

Summer soccer? HA!

like revisiting middle of winter trainings more like. Constant rain which got heavier throughout the game, and cold! Was ok unless someone kicked the ball over the fence onto the road, and then you had to stand around and wait and get cold...

Forgot how hard it is playing against fast strong boys! Certainly no point trying to beat them with ball at feet :s

ultimate frisbee 20:00 [2]

what i was lead to believe was a set of scratch games held on Fellows every wednesday. Turns out it's actually an organised league. And we played the most organised, pro team. They had team shirts and everything.

Note

Everything is sore...including my abs?! Think that one may be from the pressups I was set to doing when I asked sah and moody if there was anything I could do to help in the kitchen though.
7 PM

Football 35:00 [3]

Was meant to be reffing summer soccer, but the tuggers team didn't show up...so i could have just gone home 2.5 hours earlier!

Had a scratch game instead, so got to play which is far better than reffing. Scored 2 goals, the 2nd of which was (though is say so myself) an amazing goal from a long run into the box at a corner. Completely fluked it and the ball fell straight onto my right foot haha.

Running 2:30:00 [3]
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2012

Run up mt Gingera with the boys. Wasn't quite up for the earlier start to go with Craney and Grace :)
About 5mins up Stockyard spur I was regretting doing an hour run last night, especially that hill out of majura pines...
Thoroughly impressed with Hoggster, Devil and Rob who ran the whole spur. As soon as Jase started walking I took that as a sign that it was acceptable, and happily joined him! (probably made it 2/3 up before this happened) Utterly smashed on any uphill after that. Could manage the flats, and loved the down hills as usual, but legs seized up on any hill! Got pretty used to staring at the boys backs for the whole run!

For once I recognised my own limits and bailed out of the add on option of going up Ginini too, although all the others continued on. Bit of a shame, as I was looking forward to stretching ahead on the downhill :) Def the right decision though, not sure I had another hour in my legs! (and the description of Ginini doesn't make me feel i missed out on much!)

Good fun and good views from the top :) Possibly not the best thing for my sore ankle, but it can have tomorrow off!

Running 55:00 [3]

Cruised over to majura pines to do a middle-esque course. But there's about 50% pines left, and the other half are on the ground. So I cruised some tracks (after busting my ankle going down the hill :s ). Then decided to hit that epic hill. The on I always look at and think 'next time'.
Looks as impressive from the top as it does from the bottom, but really isn't that bad. only 7mins from the bottom to the top of majura ridge.
