Through the streets to Ainslie and around the bottom on the single tracks a bit. Legs and feet felt amazing. Lungs did not.

to/from uni.
Was biking home with John, when we came around a corner in the path to find a possum just chilling out in the middle of the bike path. It just sat there stunned so we both kept going. but at the last moment it decided to make a dash for it...straight into John's foot and wheel.
Both survived but the Possum looked pretty groggy for the experience. Was last seen zigzagging towards a tree, and overshooting it...
I think I had the worse fall off my bike from laughing too hard.

got woken up at 5am by an earthquake. Wasn't exactly expecting that in Canberra - thought it was only the wildlife I had to watch out for here, not the earth?!
Seem to be the only one of anyone I've talked to who even woke up and felt it too. Must be a wellington born and raised thing

This morning the little tender spot on my heel is not to be found, and for the first time in weeks my left heel area looks the same size as my right heel :)
hopefully it stays this way throughout the day

up to the lab. Same issue with the overtrou as yesterday. On the plus side I got up the hill in 10th gear rather than 9th. Don't think I've done that before

no, took it easy(ish). no pain, no tweaking, just the occasional weird feeling. Seem to have come through fine though which is certainly a positive sign! Still fine in the morning :)

to the lab again.
looked like rain so i wore my overtrousers to avoid getting soaking shorts/undies. But then sun came out and the inside of my overtrou turned into a sauna. yuck :(

Pleased to find the lab still there, having seen smoke coming from that part of black mtn yday...had wondered if I'd left the thermal demag ovens on and burnt down the lab. But no, just a controlled bush burn. Phew!

up to the lab for the 2nd time and then home. Also down to uni at lunchtime which i won't count - except to note that I keep biking past a guy who does weights etc in the bush behind CSIRO...in nothing but his Y-fronts...
I might start taking a different route...

physio/strength exercises. Man my left side is just crap! prob the source of my problems, i guess i've been working too hard on my right side following my knee issues.

finally made it to civic for some AJ. discovered that due to a change of contract, my 20 pass now expires on 30th June. So i'll have to go 1.5 times a week until them to get my moneys worth! (=2 x a week - inevitable bail out days).

Anyway, did 10 warm up then 5 x ~1.45 intervals with similar rests, then warm down.

good mental challenge - there's no option to not go hard to the end of the interval, as stopping = drowning lol. Just need to transfer that mental challenge into running intervals!

Getting funny phantom pains in my heel sitting at work now. Absolutely fine walking/bouncing around but the occasional feeling when i'm standing or sitting down. weird.

physio, back to uni, home. Front light keeps cutting out. Once I've stopped spending all my money on physio i'll save for ayups...

Physio worked some more magic today. Following my jog on sunday the only real effect was the tender spot on my heel was a bit more tender for a day or so.
Acupuncture today really helped with that, it's still there, but I wouldn't notice at all if i didn't keep prodding it and wondering if it's fully gone yet :)
And got some orthotics to help out with heel lift and stability. Pretty much allowed to go running/play soccer, so long as it's comfortable and no pain. So will try some light trainings this week and see how I go.

did a couple of light exercises, then stood in goal for the rest. took it real easy and foot felt fine, only issue is my heel being a bit high with the new orthotics, so boots aren't staying on too well...will have a play around to fix that one

how is it monday already?!

Foot not as bad as I feared this morning, but not as good as I hoped. Considering I was hoping for 100% discomfort free, it's still a positive result though.
Fine walking around and up and down stairs, and springing around like I do. But the tender spot on my heel is a bit sorer than prior to running.

Still. Progress. Just have to be good and rest until the physio tomorrow now!

to our soccer match at uni, then to helenic club, then mo's and eventually home. So more like 4x10min rides...which barely counts.

Watched our game, sucks being on the sideline! Was OK when we were 2 goals up for most of the game, but the last 20mins were hell as we tried our best to throw the match away! Shouted myself hoarse and if I was on the team sheet I probably would have talked our coach into putting me on for the last 15mins.
Luckily she's smarter than me and left me off the team sheet though :)

Running 20:00 [2]

my one allowed 'light jog' before tuesday. Just around Downer and Dickson ovals a couple of times.
Very sensitive to my left ankle/achilles region, so was super aware of any twinging in the first 10mins. Couldn't tell if anything i felt was me being paranoid, or actual discomfort. More of the former I think as after 10mins I started to feel fine.
Restrained myself and stopped after 20mins though. Then spent the rest of the day scared as to what it might feel like in the morning...
