Strength and Conditioning 35:00 [3]

I quite like my new physio exercises. Even if I do look like an absolute noob doing them :)

Rolling out the ITB was agony. again.
3 PM

biking (commute) 19:00 [3]

To and From uni to run the twighlight course from weds. Used it as a warm up + down but also to time how long I actually take to bike to and from work as I never actually time it during the week :)
13.30 there, 15.30ish home stops at lights not included

Death on a stick!

Orange 1 from weds, blargh felt like I was jogging the whole way! Nav was fine apart from 16 where the map and ground didn't fit each other at all! Possible the biggest mismatch between map and ground I've ever seen. No idea where the control would have actually been placed? Spent a good 20-30s checking out this area

Anyway, allowing a reasonable-generous 5s per control if I'd had to clip, my estimated time for weds is 27.12. Conveniently 10s faster than Grace ;)

biking (commute) 1:15:00 [2]

to work. to/from physio. home.

3 weeks with no cycling = chafe central on resumption :( weird as it's never happened before.

Hoping cycling doesn't start aggravating my hammy again. Will have to reconsider transportation options if it does...

Oh and physio went well, though ITBs were predictably tight after the last few weeks. One more session and I should be free to go :)

Strength and Conditioning 15:00 [0]

so I have been doing this the last few weeks (honest!). Not as much as I should have, and been lazy logging it. But back into work and routine life so I'll be a good girl and start up properly again.

Got some nice new silly looking exercises from the physio today. Time to shape up my toneless glutes!
6 PM

Running 29:30 [2] 5.6 km (5:16 / km)
shoes: Asics Trabuco 2011

Dragged myself out for what was a pretty pathetic run. Legs felt like lead from my gammy cycling muscles. Just a trot around O'connor and Bruce ridges. Went past Devil and the Bilbies doing hard core intervals on Bruce, so so glad I decided against doing that! Don't think my legs would have let me anyway.

Felt bad for running instead of starting dinner like i said I would that morning...

Football 45:00 [2]

Quite an intense lunchtime game with Laura, Nic, the workshop boys and other postgrads. Not enough space though, and played a little like shite.

Then hopped on my plane back to aus (post shower).

Trot with mum around the gardens. Highlight was watching mum do an interval the entire length and climb of the gardens all because she wouldn't let this guy running behind us to get past. Think he was trying to hang on to us, but gave up 30m from the end, much to mum's relief!

O-gang run from Sarah's.
FOr some stupid reason (bit like mum this morning), I insisted on sticking with boys up Wright's hill. So dead by the top!
Nice pace with BW and Laura from there around the tops, via no.7 from Sunday to see what remained of the jet planes I left there (not much but a blob of orange gunk). Cruised back to Sarah's for food

What was to be our Wellington traverse, but the weather didn't come to the party: Heavy rain and southerlies strengthening to gale force...

So agreed to do just the first map (which our car wasn't even keen on on the way there). Felt awesome once I was out though.

Anyway started above Karori Park, down through the pines and across to Wright's hill. Tim and I dropped Magnus here, though he caught up by the top thanks to a bad route choice on my part.
Left jet planes for Tessa and Laura at 7 and 8, but they didn't bother going off track to get the controls so didn't get them! What a waste! Last time I do that...
Regrouped with Tim and Magnus at end of first map and had a race on the long 1st leg of the 2nd map, then gave up in the wind and rain and crashed at Sarah and Ben's new flat which was conveniantly just down the road :)

Still keen on the wgtn traverse idea, and still have the maps. Would be awesome on a fine day like the week we had before christmas. Will save it up andmight extend it.

On a side note: Found possibly the worst positioned homeless person's pad I've ever seen today - sited in the junction of two streams behind Karori park, and as a result completely flooded on a day like today.
