what's possibly the dumbest thing to try and run on with a bung knee? soft sand anyone? That was fun.

wicked day at the beach though, and well, i had to try.

to/from the lab. I reckon i could make some mean bike intervals out of this. Bit surprised to find I'm the only one of the research group who can make it to the lab without getting off and pushing, i mean come on guys!

today I feel awesome, must have been that jog last night :) Or maybe it was the wicked phad thai I made for dinner last night? Or the thought of the beach at the weekend? :D
(but it still took me a good half hour and 4xsnoozes to get out of bed this morning!)

A good way to wake up in the morning. Keeps me awake until coffee at 10.30 anyway...

also, seem to have staved off what seemed like sickness on monday. Evasive measures such as not chewing and not breathing must have worked ;)

to twighlight via a somewhat round about route. me and bike got a lift home, bit lazy but would have been rude to turn down mo's offer of a beer :)

Running 25:00 [2]

got a blank map and went for a jog. Knee was fine for the first km and a bit then ached a bit so i walk/jogged. Much much better than a couple of weeks ago though and much better than last week. keep being patient...

jogged backwards round the last few controls til I found Mo, who proclaimed she was lost, but was really in the control circle. think she slowed down when i found her actually, oops.

just not happening today. my defence was pretty terrible! scored twice though, turns out im better at scoring in this game than in soccer. (way better at setting up goals in soccer though...)

we won, lost count of the score but was pretty close.

oooh no. I think i can feel sickness coming on. Had nagging pain in my temples when chewing so far today. And now there's a pain in my throat when i breathe deeply...
I can't even remember the last time I was sick beyond a mild cold? Here's hoping it's nothing

morning stretches. too tired/spent too long eating desert to do more in the evening

garr i hate it when people play without positions, they always encroach on where you're trying to play!
but that grumble aside, good game. we managed to sort out team positions at half time and it worked wonders. Completely dominated 2nd half.
3 girl goals gave us a 6-0 win, which is a bit harsh on the other team to be honest.

Needless to say I didnt score :)

well, not strictly soccer. 10mins warm up/down on bike 5mins warm down jog, on which my knee stiffened up :(

Got home to the end of the postgrad halloween potluck so gorged out on desert, plus nicked an awesome looking cupcake for morning tea tomorrow :)

another good ride on blackie and bruce ridge.

went past some girls out walking on my way onto blackie, who all warned me there were snakes up on the tracks. But I was feeling pretty badass with my tats still on from the halloween party last night, so wasn't deterred by the thought of snakes :) (funny aside - got asked by the principal of the college this morning what the significance of my pirate ship tattoo was. He was a bit disappointed when i told him it was a fake, although i thought the glitter would have given that away...)

Anyway, I spent the next 20mins playing stick stick snake (think duck duck goose, but with a twist). Pretty lame game though, never saw a snake. (analagous to when some kid goes around the circle like 5 times, only saying 'duck')

So yep, good ride. Tried to shoulder charge a tree at one stage. I've already learnt that this has little effect on the tree when you're running, but thought I'd give it a try on the bike. Same result unfortunately, except for a larger bruise on my shoulder.
