Orienteering 28:30 [4]

o-max khandallah park

awesome idea from nick with the 4 controls, practiced tight reading of the map. I'd explain more, but not quite in the mood...later

pretty sure the finish clocks were out of sync though. I was first finisher and 1st one didnt beep for me so i used the 2nd. but i went hard from last control to the finish and dad's split is 17s faster than mine, so something's wrong there. maybe cos i punched the 1st finish control again bout 30s later to try and get it working?

Note
(rest day)

monday was a rest day, today i was just too tired and busy. Getting a bit freaked out by the lack of communication over the junior camp next week. Trainings are 3/4 set, but only heard about permissions today! And bugger all word from the organisation side of things...stress.

Orienteering (club event: mt vic) 53:54 [3]

Nick's course on mt vic. 4.7km, 310m climb. Pretty sure he used every little bit of the map (I have found one small square that he didn't use actually). Map was hard to read with lines and controls everywhere, had to stop at every control to see where the next one was, so not much reading ahead going on.
Absolute mission, and legs got a bit cut up by blackberry, no wearing shorts at work for next couple of days! Nice bruise on my thigh too from running into a branch.
Apart from that, orienteering was ave. Almost caught BW up, but no sooner did i get him in my sights, I got a blackberry thorn stuck in my big toe joint. Had to stop, take shoe and sock off, find said prickle, replace shoe and sock before carrying on. lame.
