After sitting inside all day planning junior camp stuff I dragged myself out into the beautiful sunshine for a run.
Tessa, if you get to read this, I miss you! Absolutely everybody else was busy today, so had to run on my lonesome. Could always rely on Tessa to be keen for a run...
Anyhow, pretty much did the same run as last saturday, although the wind made it much more bearable. And I added an extra loop, going down the new track from the skyline, and back up to the saddle before Johnston's hill.
Nothing much exciting to report from the run I don't think. I chickened out of the road hill climb at the end, and gutsed it up the valley on the farmland instead. Not sure if that actually counts as wimping out though, one's as hard as the other.

Man i must have had a long day today, I've had to sit here and think for 5mins to remember if I did stretches and exercises this morning! I have agreed with myself that I did, as there's a 15-20min gap that I can't remember between my alarm and my shower. And pretty sure i didnt fall back asleep

Started off pretty unsure. Ankle has been hurting a bit more since weds, which is to be expected. I'm tossing up whether to play soccer next week, or whether to leave it until preseason starts up in Feb, plenty of time to recover. but its out last game anyway... see how i go over the weekend i think.
So ended up going along the yellow track, up the new old track (or the old new track). right up to skyline and down through the flax clearing. Another fantastic evening. almost too hot in the sun, nice in the shade though.

Yay for the end of the week! Although now i realise I have absolutely nothing planned this weekend. Just me and the cat...

7 aside league game aganst Marist, top of the table.
Such an average game. to be honest, they ran rings around us. The younger girls were a bit intimidated, there was minimal talking and noone was moving to create space. Just such an average game.
lost 3-0. 1-0 would have been a fairer score line but Jo wasn't having a great day in goal.

o-max out in days bay. well not in days bay. that would have been different.

started off alright, felt a bit sick. bush bashed my way out of F which i don't think was the optimum way, would have been, but was just a bit too much bush to bash through.
Messed about a bit on the ABC loop, not reading the map closely enough. But came into the last pivot just behind piret. clung onto her all the way up the hill but then made the stupidest mistake i've made in a long time. we'd already slightly overshot V, so i decided to get the other V (we had a choice of 2), which was up the hill rather than down. Dumb idea, got so so stuck inthe vines and crappy bush. By the time i was half way up to the control Piret was back on the track and on her way to the rest of the course. Then i overshot V anyway, so lost a good 2 mins all up.
Kind of lost motivation after that and messed around in T and S.
Ended up 3 mins behind Piret and 1min behind Laura. But atleast the bbq on the beach was good, even if someone dropped half my steak in the sand (i wont name names...)

bit of a warm up.
then was so annoyed with myself afterwards went back to redo V. I know o-maxs count for next to nothing, but was seriously pissed off with myself for making such a stupid decision on V. Especially as i'd decided at the bottom of the hill that the lower one was the best option. Will teach me not to change my mind when i'm in oxygen debt! (i hope).
Anyway, Piret and I went back up and did V again, and hit it cleanly this time. then went further up the hill and jogged back down as a warm down

3rd day running in a row...oooh. will give it a rest tomorrow. and better do some stretches etc later as i ran out of time before the club agm last night.

joined up with magnus jamie laura and casper at karori park and went for a bit of an adventure up on wrights hill. Took the map from this years winter classic with us and went exploring. found some neat possum tracks, including one that took us off the map. Underestimated our prowess at bush bashing however as we made it back in only 70 mins!

mint day again, very glad i took lots of fluid for afterwards! 3 days running insinglets in a row. that could be a first for me!
