Running 45:00 [3]

absolute stunner of a day, was pretty hot out running. i turned into a sweaty beast!

from the power grid above croften downs, up electricity board road and on up otari. then the long descent down to skyline and back to crofton downs via the horse sheds. which actually had horses, and people doing stuff in them today. Really wasn't looking forward to the last hill up to the car (v.steep road!) but wasn't nearly as bad as i was anticipating, possibly cos it was in the shade.

however, think it's def the right decision not to do the goat next week. Will go and run the route later this summer (and the tongariro crossing). Even if i made it through all the rough stuff, i don't have the endurance at the moment to make it up the final km on the road!

Running 35:00 [3]

wilton bush. again. not that i'm bored of it, but i do seem to run there a lot! Guess it's just conveniant on the way to/from work, and isnt as steep as other places. and the sunshine. ah

so from top car park, down, up through flax clearing up to the skyline. down the two new tracks and back along the yellow track. I was thinking the other day, just how much i love the down hill sections in wilton bush. you can really stretch out on them, but still have to concentrate as the ground isnt smooth and you have to dodge trees. It's just a shame that I can;t go full speed downhill yet, it's one of the things i still have to hold off on. Can't wait to let go down the hills again though!

Running 50:00 [3]

Wilton bush, up through flax clearing, along the ridge to top of johnstons hill. then i didnt feel like bashing through the pines as leg was the tiniest bit sore, so turned around and came back down the mtn bike track (aka the old new track) and home along the yellow track.

first time in ages i wear ankle socks to run (trying to get rid of my other sock tan line), and guess what, i get stung by a bee, right where any other sock would have protected me!
alanis morisette would call that ironic. I wouldn't. Luckily Todd wasn't there to mock me.

Running 35:00 [5]

Just a short run around wilton bush. along yellow track up the old new track (i have to find a better name for that!) then back down by the 800 yr old rimu.

getting so sick of runners with freaking head phones in. I mean, ok listen to music that's fine, so long as you're aware of other people. Got stuck behind a guy who was using the whole track with his running style. Politely asked him to move. then told him i was coming through on the right (had to squeeze). and then realised he was completely oblivious cos of his music. I enjoyed burning him off with my superior speed after that :D

Running 1:27:00 [3]

Was going to run with Laura on Belmont, but then magnus came along at the last minute and decided belmont was too boring. So we went out to the akatarawas. Along the tiny little track with the rope ladder on it, down to the stream and up to the old coach/logging track. all the way along that and down to the main track by the river and half an hour back along the flat.

Love the run, was a bit slippery in running shoes but i managed. longest run I've done since before europe i think. managed to slice my little finger open on some cutty grass, and stood ona sharp stone that went right through my shoe and into my foot, and stayed there! Felt really sick running back along the bottom too, almost vomited a couple of times, maybe cos I haven't run that length in a while? Maybe i was drunk? Maybe i'm pregnant? who knows? what other reasons are there for wanting to vomit? I enjoyed the run anyway, despite all that :)

can't wait to do some longer runs. might take a couple of days to recover from this one though, so I'm not quite there yet!
