my longest run yet. with magnus and lisa from their place. up magnus' new track which is impressive! onto shitty little horse track which ankle didnt like. then up to skyline and down the new track which is mint. around and back up to crofton downs. then jogged back along the grass verges by the road. hamstring hindered me a bit, and ankle wasnt too happy

Not Cool. How freaking stupid is this, was walking home in the dark, up the drive when i slipped on a monkey tail leaf (do you call it a leaf?), norfolk pine thing anyway, in the middle of the drive. And I did my hammy.
dumb. and i hadn't even been drinking. much.

so now i'm struggling to figure which leg to limp on. hopefully a few days easy will see it right

felt alright at the time, but took 4 days to recover....so not again for a little bit me thinks!
turns out i've lost all my fast feet and agility stuff. was quite funny, i could almost see my teammates thought process as they'd glance up, see me free and think "sweet! lizzie. pass" and then they'd pause and think "wait, no...she's not 100% and a bit unco at the moment" and would either look elsewhere, or have already have passed to me, in which case their next thought was "crap"...and i'd lose the ball.

played striker so i didnt have to run as much in theory, didn't work. and 5 months without soccer meant my entire body hurt for 2 days after. including abs, still hurts to laugh :s

Running warm up/down (o-max 1 newlands) 15:00 [3]

had a long/slow warmup cos I was apparently too late registering to start with Piret and Lisa. (pretty sure I wasn't). So I had to start with Shamus M and Simon T-S. Which i didn't mind, so long as shamus didnt beat me. he's fast that kid.
I'm not quite sure what the point of 4 people starting together head to head is if you don't start people of the same ability, or atleast running the same class at the same time?

Orienteering race (o-max 1 newlands) 26:30 [5]

So. Much. Lactic. Acid!

First time back doing anything much at speed, and we had to go up and down the hill atleast twice.
thought I was doing alright until Piret came past me up the hill as if I was just standing there! Was pretty happy considering though. I was only 2mins off Piret and 3 off the fast guys. Messed up the last loop, where you were allowed to skip any 2 controls. Left out W and X. X was way out of the way, and W i thought was too complicated to get in and out of.
Which i think was the right choice if the map was actually accurate, however it isnt quite and after missing a gap in the fence i pretty much ended up going to W to find a way out of the school.
Ah well, will only improve :)

Got so sick of work that I just left and went running around the botanics (felt justified in doing so as i hadnt taken a lunch break).
Stunning day. Tried to do my normal route but made some adjustments so that I wasn't on tarmac too long. Fine for the majority, arches started to ache towards the end.

Then tried out the new Kelburn Pub for afterwork drinks. which does good burgers but AMAZING chips. they're chunky and crisp and have bbq kettlechip flavouring...mmm

Orienteering 43:00 [3]

took a couple of controls for leg to calm down, thought i might have to walk in for a bit but then it got better. sat down at no.5 and took bandage off cos it was hurting me (ironic n'est pas?)
then was fine, apart from being pretty unfit, and not being able to navigate. average.
also, got screwed over by red kiwi's pine needle coloured flags again. ran literally straight past no.2 :(
