from waitarere up through watchtower and osgiliath (and wanda ofcourse, but that's implied). had to do 3 about turns through watchtower, first when confronted by a 100m long puddle (having already biked through a 50m one), again when the next track i took turned into a pond. and again when my 3rd choice just ended in the middle of the felled area.
eventually made it past watchtower and bumped into bruce henderson putting controls out for orienteering next week.

jogging with the o-gang. first time since ive been back that there were decent numbers. shame i had to turn around after 13mins.
ankle felt a bit dodge after the last couple of days running. so no running tomorrow and prob fri i think. need to ease off a bit.
sure its the field work thats overdone it a bit

Running 30:00 [3]

1st run with mum since before queens bday. had to go infront of her so i could see where i was putting my foot, and then pulled away a bit. which ill put down to her running woa champs the previous 3 days, not my speed!
bit of discomfort in the leg going down hill. will have to remind myself to keep taking it easy.

also, went past the place where i left the duckling. Just as I was running past a mummy duck came out with a line of 5 littlies behind her. And the last in the line gave me a little quack of recognition...
no, i lie. there was nothing to see. But I'm going to stick with the former story and say the duckling lived happily ever after.

Drove up to picton, mountains looked stunning as they have all week.
got to picton with bout an hour to spare so i went for a run round one of the hills whilst the americans sat in the scottish bar and watched nfl.
found a decent hill to go up. it hurt.

Note

idea was to go for a run today, when we were out on banks peninsula at our last station. but we were in private property so no such luck.
im pretty tired from lugging 35kg batteries up and down hills anyway (seems if they could find a hill in canterbury, they put the seismometer on top of it!)
wish i was at wgtn champs :( i am having fun down here, but still...
