Orienteering race 42:07 [5]

i dont know if the painkillers are working, but if they are then i def dont want to stop taking them!
couldnt really run properly so my aim was to hit things cleanly. not happy then when i overshot no.1, oops! 2 was straight down hill, got it cleanly but cant get any speed going downhill. 3 was long leg and route choice. with the 2 short legs before it i didnt have time to select a route til i was 100m in. then it was easy for me to decide to go left to the road, as atleast i could run on the road! busted a gut up the hill, slowly, and spiked the control. had trouble contouring to no.5 as it was very rocky. fine through 6 and 7. meandered to 8 but spiked it at the end. then lost my shoe in a marsh to 9, considered doing rest with 1 shoe, but too much to go so spent a minute getting it back on. made mistakes on both 9 and 10 with not wanting to climb hills (classic mistake, just do it!) and hobbled in to the finish from there.
felt like i was running about 65% but was the kind of map where it prevented me making the 5-10min mistakes a fair few people were making. but then they had bout the same times as me cos i was hobbling along so much slower! anyway happy just to get around, felt much better than waiting around at the finish. not sure if it was the best idea and if it were an individual race tomorrow i wouldnt race, but dont want to let the other girls down. we'll see.
Orienteering warm up/down 25:00 [3]

1.3km run to the start from prestart. ankle was so dodge along it that i was seriously contemplating not starting. then went around warm up map when i got there. was so scared that id missed my start cos it took me so long to get around the 4 warmup controls (atleast that would have taken the decision out of my hands!)
