Running long 5:26:00 [3]

went for bit of an adventure in the mtns with mum. dropped the car off at catchpool and scabbed a lift down to the south coast. then ran along the coast, past mouth of the orongaronga, bout 10kms round to the mukamuka river. up the mukamuka for bout 45 mins til it got a bit rough to run (or mum got a bit tired :P) then climbed up to south saddle (bout 3.10 all up), onto the mt matthews track and slipped and slid down to the orongronga.
then managed to run again, down to 5mile and back to car.
legs were fine entire way, but managed to go over on my ankle, on bout the flattest bit 1km from the car! ran it off though

found yesterdays control that went walkabout, just sitting happily in a completely different part of the gardens from where we left it!

also found an extra control?! guessing it was the gardeners returning a long lost control to us, as i talked bout that with one of them on weds. hope i didnt nick one of the wellington girls controls anyhow :D

somehow dragged myself back out for a run with tessa, even though it was the last thing i felt like doing (the running bit, not the company!). went around the botanics...again...cos had to somehow end up at the car in kelburn, and i wasnt up for going "all the way" up to the sanctuary.
on the plus side, found the best playground yet! so excited! going to have to have a potluck close to kelburn so we can visit it as a group. Tessa and i restrained ourselves and didnt actually have a play on it, only ran around it and admired :)

putting controls out. got the lower end of the gardens today, or so i thought but ended up going up the hill 1.5 times anyway!

Orienteering 55:00 [2]

collecting all controls.
one of the controls went walkabout but would have been a member of the public, not the school kids, as it was at the far end of the map and the group today didn't get near the far end!
got some sore arms and weird looks for running around with 16 odd controls and flags.

first preseason training. so not worth it, should have gone to the track with the gang instead. but having said that, if i hadnt gone mariko would have been by herself with all the youngies.
new coach seems the complete opposite of saun, when he realised we were only going to get 8 girls he just set up a game. hope he gets a bit more intense, cos we're really going to need some fitness training (and some more players...). if tuesday is no better i'll be flagging thursday trainings to go out with the ogang

Football (indoor) 30:00 [4]

first indoor game for a while. man you lose it so quickly! played more defensive tonight. we managed to win, but it wasnt convincing. still, got trophies cos apparently it was the minor final or something lol, think we defaulted our semi last week.
tessa scored two wicked goals :) just as well i scored with a couple of mins to go, or she'd have scored more goals than me, and we can't have that :P

putting controls out in botanics for coaching with queen margarets. even went up a couple of tracks ive never been on before.
exercises went well despite WCC saying we could use the gardens on condition that we don't run!

Running race (5k) 21:32 [4]

don't really want to write about this, but spose i better so can look back on it later.
bit rushed walking down from uni after work so didnt get as much of a warmup as i'd have liked. Then started off faster than i was comfortable with, and towards the turn around my legs really started to feel it. then my head took over and started telling me this was going to be frimley park all over again, real negative thoughts, and i pretty much freaked myself out of the race. had to stop and walk to calm myself down again, then jogged, then picked up pace a little towards the end, but by then any chance of a decent time was gone. got to pace tessa into the finish though, one positive out of the whole thing :) really pissed off with myself tho cos im 90% sure it was completely mental, despite having 3 hill runs in the 3 days before.

not impressed.

run with maglis, tessa and nick from marsden village, round back roads to karori park up to the ridge and up johnston's hill. a nice easy pace and real nice evening. plus managed to hold off nick in a sprint at the end (not incl in the above description of easy pace)

from oakleigh st entrance up belmont with laura. felt a bit bad cos i forget she's 4.5 years younger than me, and there was no way i could make it up belmont in one go when i was 17!
still got round in 71mins so doing a decent pace. Mum didn't believe we did it in less than 75, so chances are she'll drag me out there again soon to try beat our time :)
