Running race (Rimutaki incline race) 1:22:00 [4] 17.9 km (4:35 / km)

For some reason it seemed like a good idea at the time to enter this race! nah it was good, if not wholly enjoyable! i havent done the incline since i was bout 8, and that was on a bike, and i didnt research the course before hand, so didnt really know how far it was to the summit (turns out its about 11-12km). the entire race was on a well formed 4wd track (of course, as its a popular biking route, and old train route), and the climb was real gradual, didnt really feel like up hill at all. As a result had to push myself the entire way to keep going.

couldnt quite keep up with rita on the uphill, and penny got away right at the start as rita and i got stuck behind a load of slow runners who started in front of us (garr!).
but managed to get past rita just as we hit the flat at the end, and just had penny in my sight when she finished so we were all real close in the end.

very very sore afterwards. especially my shoulders?!

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

a vain attempt to avoid cramping later

Running 45:00 [3]

run at wiltons bush, up to ridge via flax clearing. then around towards johnston's hill and down new track. just came along flat at the bottom.
saw casper on the way home, which reminded me of the ridge runners run i could have gone on in ngaio, oops!

Orienteering race (o-max 2 Seatoun) 27:13 [5]

Wicked course by Todd. Had to bust a gut again to beat Laura! man she's speedy at mo, was leading me into last loop, but managed to find a easier way through the bushes than her, lucky! Also managed to jump straight into a waist high gorse bush, so legs are a bit cut up this morning...just preparation for the blackberry at the paintball map next week!

Running warm up/down 10:00 [3]

incl some fence hurdling :D

Running 45:00 [2]

my friend laura appeared on my doorstep this morning and dragged me up kaukau to help her procrastinate. so walked up kaukau and ran back down. was gonna go for a run before soccer tonight anyhow, does that count?

Football (twilight game) 35:00 [4]

first twilight game of the season. playing with my mate alice from footy and some of her friends (incl a real hot french dude!, shame i think he was just filling in for the week...)
anyway, i so dont have match fitness at mo! we lost 4-1 and didnt have much structure, but hey first match together, it will get better!

Running 1:38:00 [3]

ran from uni to newtown park (27mins),
then group run from there, up to hockey stadium, round the golf course, up mt albert, to melrose park, bit of bush bashing (chur Todd), then onto the hill south of mt vic. todd and others went to top, but i contoured round and met them further along the ridge. then they went straight down to road, so i contoured back around and met them on the grass above zoo. then back to newtown park.
got a lift back with sarah to aro, then ran back up to uni and the car :)

wasnt really planning on such a long run after the weekend, but didnt feel too bad after it all. hopefully i dont die from the cut i got bushbashing through rubbish on the town belt :s

Orienteering race (Hawkes Bay OY 'the slump') 1:06:30 [4] 7.0 km (9:30 / km) +360m 7:33 / km

man was i feeling it from day before! I've got no stamina at the moment!
1st 2 controls were sweet, then went a bit haywire on 3. misread which hill i was contouring round and ended up at 14 oops... no big mistakes other than that, infact spiked pretty much all the other controls, so the navigation isnt a prob at moment really, just was sooo slow!
but hey, no more exams so hello training!
