Excursion up the Ohau River with Mum to North Ohau hut. Didn't even try to count the river crossings. Was feeling shattered, but got more into it after a couple of hours. consisted of almost bang on 2x5km trail runs and 1x10km river wade and rock hop

Afterwork sprint around sacred heart girls school. Tight orienteering with some fast running in the last 5mins. Good hit out on a new map to me.

Paper road trail race out in the Eastern Hill country near Rotokare. Mostly very bumpy farm tracks with some grunty hills and very shakey downhills. Great fun. Quickly gave up hope of winning the women's race though after spotting a lycra clad chick on a bike worth 10x mine speed off with the speedsters at the front of the start pack. Didn't see her again til the finish.
Won a spotprize though... an ITM backpack, farmlands bottle opener, fonterra carry bag and ravensdown drink bottle. Can you tell it was a rural race haha. Better than the guy i finished with though, who got 5L of disinfectant for the farm!

Evening run around the Lake Dive loop. Stunner of a lake, but a bit of a brutal loop especially with fallen trees etc from Tuesday's winds. Round the mountain track was almost non existent in parts too! Great fun.

Traversed the Kaitakes with some of the young gun adventure racers (who had summited Taranaki beforehand, just casually). Then did a second traverse back over to get the car. Fantastic day out and great company for the first half.
Was keen to see/explore goat rock on my way back over the range...but I was so determined on my grind back up the hill that I somehow missed the little track to the side, and didn't realise until I popped out at the summit! I was so annoyed! But not annoyed enough to drop the 60m elevation back down to find it...

A/W rogaine. Was very well behaved and cut short after 94mins. Not really a choice though, I was wrecked. Planning was almost non existent tonight, made it up as I went along and definitely didn't take an efficient route!
