9 AM

biking - dark blue bike 3:18:38 intensity: (1:04 @1) + (1:20:30 @2) + (1:56:48 @3) + (16 @4) 38.36 mi (5:11 / mi) +3912ft 4:43 / mi
ahr:130 max:151 weight:138.5lbs

Nice ride up in the hills west of Putney, Vermont. About 3/4 dirt roads, in pretty good condition. Lots of ups and down but nothing that seemed particularly hard, or unpleasant. Really enjoyed it. Certainly didn't hurt that the weather was perfect, mid 60s to 70s, sunny, light breezes.

12 PM

biking - dark blue bike 1:07:05 [1] 11.51 mi (5:50 / mi) +124ft 5:46 / mi
weight:138.5lbs

Beth Elliott was in the area. A lengthy and delightful visit, first at Wild Roots in "downtown" Sunderland, and then a leisurely pedal north and back. Perfect day, both regarding weather and company (the latter obviously much more important, but the former nice to have).

6 PM

run/hike 7:30 [1] 0.5 mi (14:56 / mi) +73ft 13:08 / mi

Another attempt at moving on foot. Pathetic again, how quickly the body complains, lower right leg in particular.

Decided I would sign up for the O' this weekend at Willard Brook, do as little or as much as suits me, at whatever pace suits me, hopefully not making myself miserable. And then hopefully see some folks I haven't seen for a while. Signed up for M70, Green-X, more people I know on the course.

And in the meantime, just to make myself a little more socially presentable, will get myself boosted on Monday morning. :-)

ahr:117 max:148 weight:138.5lbs

Up this side of the river, down the other side. Breeze from the south, so the first part was easy. Coming back south I put out more effort and the legs felt pretty good. Or maybe the breeze was dying down. Or maybe both.

Thursday Sep 23 #

11 AM

run/hike 7:41 [2] 0.5 mi (15:22 / mi) +71ft 13:33 / mi
weight:138lbs

First time trying a little bit of running in 3 months. Walked out/up a quarter-mile, ran bits on the way back/down.

Hmm, how best to characterize it? Unpleasant? Feeble? Pathetic? Last one seems closest.

3 PM

biking - dark blue bike 1:02:17 intensity: (2:31 @1) + (56:17 @2) + (3:29 @3) 15.1 mi (4:07 / mi) +630ft 3:58 / mi
ahr:117 max:136

Leverett loop. Warm, humid, windy from the SE. Didn't feel like working hard, so I didn't. :-)

Wednesday Sep 22 #

1 PM

biking - dark blue bike 1:11:45 intensity: (42:21 @1) + (29:24 @2) 16.34 mi (4:24 / mi) +123ft 4:22 / mi
ahr:99 max:116 weight:137.5lbs

With Gail, flats south of town, good breeze from the SSE.

I do need to get a different saddle. Or, plan B, a lot more fat on my butt. Gail asked where it was hurting. Only where I'm putting any weight on the saddle.

There has got to be something that's better.

biking - dark blue bike 1:51:03 intensity: (1:47 @1) + (1:11:40 @2) + (36:11 @3) + (1:25 @4) 25.93 mi (4:17 / mi) +1208ft 4:06 / mi
ahr:124 max:155 weight:138lbs

A really nice day, and with some wet weather forecast for the next few days it seemed silly not to get out today. Even though I'd assume there was some lingering weariness from Sunday's ride.

Put out a Goldilocks effort, not too hard, not too easy, just right.

Flats south of town. Just right after yesterday.
