5 Peaks trail race! I'm actually really happy how this all came together - good training, good taper, I felt strong and capable throughout the entire race, and I came in under my goal time of 1:45 (goal time was based loosely on the training run Kate and I did a few weeks ago). I didn't warm up as much as I wanted, which is still a habit I would like to get into more. Need to figure out timing for that though, I think. Course was great. Lots of water crossing up to my knees for maximum refreshment and shoe-cleaning. Felt strong on the uphill climbs (which I power walked) and fast on the rocky, wet downhills (where I passed a lot of people). Knowing the course really helped. Who knows, maybe I'll do another one of these... :)
Sprint camp recon afterwards really helped to keep the blood flowing... it sucked on the day, but I am happy now that we did it!
